"Amazing place - must stay here"
Met by Adrian and served welcome drinks. The staff (all male) and service are excellent, and the place is very well managed. Food is fantastic, good wine selection. Overall, a top class act. The rooms are unique and well blended into the surrounding rocks, with discreet, outdoor bathrooms. Very special and quite private. We loved this place! Our vehicles were even given a wash in the morning. Balloon trips available nearby.
Lounge and balcony area nice place to relax and view the sunset. Wood burners used for heating hot water. The only adverse comment would have to be that the rooms were extremely hot and the floor-standing fans, although new, were too noisy to use. We were the first NZers to visit this place, and would love to come back one day. Highly recommended." See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia; 5n in South Africa; 3n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia
"Unique mountain lodge"
Very nice plunge pool.
Extremely attentive, efficient staff - we particularly enjoyed the sundowners at the top of the hill.
We were lucky enough to see a big group of desert elephants up close. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.
The rock painting trip was quite interesting but a bit rushed, though it was raining at the time. Entertainment again provided by the Italian coach party we met at Kulala.
The drive from the coast to Damaraland via Uis was beautiful. Another group we met had gone up the skeleton coast and the C39, which was apparently spectacular." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia

"Mountain Retreat"
Trips were interesting, Desert Elephant tracking was done sensitively and without undue stress on these rare animals , an enjoyable experience." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
"Camp Kipwe the ultimate in outdoor bathing"
The sundowners were amazing or was this just the impact of the cocktails. The outside bathroom experience was fantastic, and provided us with the chance to cool down.
The rooms became very warm at night so sleep with fans on and doors open. It would be nice to see more female staff working at the camp and contributing to the atmosphere.
Recommend desert elephant tracking and once again our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
"Excellence in the making"
Can recommend the drive to see the Desert Elephants, but sighting is not guaranteed. We were lucky and spent an hour with a family group but it took a 6 hour expedition to find them but this was worth the effort.
If you want to go to Twflefontein to see the rock carvings it is easy to do this yourself. The visitor centre had no refreshment facilities and poor toilets, both of which would have been welcome on a hot day." See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia
"A rock and a soft place"
We visited Twyfelfontein to see the rock engravings on the day we arrived and left early the following day so didn't have much time to explore the area. Would use Camp Kipwe again if we ever pass by." See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia
"Camp Kipwe review"
When we were there the nights were cool, but I have a feeling the rooms must get very hot in summer. Wouldn't ceiling fans be more efficient than the fan standing on one side of the bed ?" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia
"Stunning"
We were treated to a surprise candlelit dinner on our own to celebrate our wedding anniversary, it was an enchanting place. Of the staff Andreas was particulary helpful.
Can't wait to return, it really was a special place. Again unforgettable." See all these reviews: 16n in Namibia
