"My Aug 2018 trip"
Combining Kicheche Laikipia and Kicheche Mara provided variety and also continuity in their shared ethos of commitment to the animals, environment, local community and to their guests being cared for and to providing the best possible guiding experience. Both conservancies offer lovely landscape and a great variety and number of animals.
Expert Africa (Richard!) organized the trip so well and thoroughly that, travelling alone, I felt continually looked after." Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 7 on a Kenya safari

"My Mar 2018 trip"
I have traveled extensively in Africa, but this was my first trip to Kenya. It is a totally different experience and I attribute the success to our wonderful guides at each camp.
The animal life is astonishing as is the bird life.

One suggestion: provide more detail about applying for the e-visa...advise people that they need to log onto the site after several days to get the visa.
This is not very clear on the Kenyan site." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 11 on a Kenya safari

"Our Best Holiday Ever!"
"Amazing"
We probably did not know exactly what to expect. We would do some things differently if we were to return to Kenya. The game drives were amazing and all the guides were terrific.
Also, visiting a village while at Saruni Sambur , a school and the Maa Trust while at Nabisco was terrific. Horse back riding and climbing up to Pride Rock at Borana were unique and fun experiences.
Our last day in Nairobi, with a wonderful guide, was great. We had a lovely lunch and visited the Giraffe Center and the David Sheldrick Elephant Refuge. Meeting our Emoli, the elephant we adopted was truly a highlight." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 13 on a Kenya safari
"Kenya: Laikipia and Mara Conservancies 2018"
"Terrific introduction to Kenya"
Each was quite different but within relatively easy reach. We travelled to all three by road, only getting on a bush plane from Meru to Nairobi. Each camp too was quite individual in terms of style and atmosphere.
The tented camp Kicheche in Laikipia was our favourite overall but Saruni Samburu and Elsa's Kopje were both excellent experiences and in spectacular positions. Of the three Elsa's probably had the highest age profile.
We scored a number of firsts such as tiny lion cubs, a successful cheetah hunt and bat-eared foxes mating (in broad daylight!). It was a delight to see the animals unique to the area such as reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and Grevy's zebra. It was also a privilege to attend part of the celebrations of a Samburu wedding.
All in all a terrific trip and an introduction to Kenya that will probably be hard to beat." Read full review: 18 nights in Africa; 16 on a Kenya safari
