My Mar 2018 trip
Kenya between 1 Mar 2018 and 12 Mar 2018
I have traveled extensively in Africa, but this was my first trip to Kenya. It is a totally different experience and I attribute the success to our wonderful guides at each camp.
The animal life is astonishing as is the bird life.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
One suggestion: provide more detail about applying for the e-visa...advise people that they need to log onto the site after several days to get the visa.
This is not very clear on the Kenyan site."
Feedback response
We're delighted that Ms S had such a good trip to Kenya and the guides at the camps delivered so well. On the question of visas, we generally advise clients to get their visas on arrival in Kenya. This is quick process, requiring no photos or documents apart from the simple application form which we provide with every booking. The advance visa application website run by the Kenya government is usually fairly straightforward for those comfortable with uploading documents on the internet, but occasional delays can occur and we feel on balance that visa on arrival is an easier solution.

A wonderful start to the safari experience in Kenya. I liked that the camp was small and easy to get around.
Great guides, especially Simon, who shared my great interest in birds in addition to the animals.
He is incredibly knowledgeable."
Kicheche Bush Camp

The managers, Derren and Emma were wonderful and went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming. Derren was kind enough to arrange for me to have a morning's horseback ride at a nearby facility and took time to drive me there and drive me back to camp at noon. It was a wonderful morning and brought back memories of my many horseback safaris in Botswana.
Again, the guides were superb and knowledgeable."
Kicheche Mara
"Kicheche Mara review"
We saw many families of animals, including mongoose, hyena, lion etc., etc. Even say a lioness transferring her very young cubs to a new location. These last days on safari were truly magical.
I would also like to mention the 2 wondeful managers, especially Tony, who took the time to introduce me to the local expert in medicinal plants (a long standing interest of mine, which has taken me to other parts of Africa to study traditional medicine). Tony did an excellent job of simultaneous interpretation and it was a fascinating time.
The only negative with respect to Mara North was its size (many more people than we were used to) and this led to a loss of familiarity. Meals were served at a very long table which made conversation difficult and it was noisy. Having said that, I do understand that business is business!"

The lunch that was served was fabulous! Worth every penny."
Only had breakfast there, but it was served very good with friendly staff."
