"Pioneer Camp review"

1 night Arrived 12 Nov 2010
"Might be a short distance from the airport but a very long off-road ride in a taxi - once the taxi driver eventually appeared to meet us at the airport, after we'd contacted you; we think he was chatting with his mates and simply forgot about us. if I hadn't had a working mobile, what then?

Service would be "good" apart from that, they allowed us to check in for our BA flight home.

Pleasant enough spot but a come-down after the Delta, mostly South African backpackers and selfdrivers who weren't overly sociable." See all these reviews: 11n in Botswana; 3n in Zambia

"ok for 1 night"

1 night Arrived 6 Oct 2010
"Simple and ok for 1 night.

Chalet has been upgraded and now has enough light to read by. Paul is friendly enough but invisible in the morning. Get the Land cruiser not the Hilux for the transfer if possible as the road is awful. Limited food choice and very ordinary quality.

Happy campers making extraordinary trips means interesting chats over a drink." See all these reviews: 14n in Zambia

"Pioneer Camp"

1 night Arrived 24 Sep 2010
"I know the options are limited near Lusaka airport but this was disappointing. We were only there in the dark & most of the journey was along a very bumpy dirt track. I guess it was worse as following Royal Livingstone than if straight from another camp. Perhaps a hotel would have suited us better.

They were not there to meet us at sirport - someone phoned for us & they arrived about 10 mins later. They did not comment about it." See all these reviews: 14n in Zambia

"Comfortable stay at Pioneer camp"

1 night Arrived 17 Sep 2010
"We just overnighted here before our flight back home. For this the camp is great.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food is great.

The management helped us check in for our flights after dinner which saved us some time at the airport the next morning." See all these reviews: 14n in Zambia
