"Vic falls option"

2 nights Arrived 9 Apr 2016
"Lovely Sun Int hotel with indoor bathrooms but it was all fur coat and no knickers. whilst the staff were lovely they lacked service skills and need more training in many cases. The food was the worst we had all week.

Fab rooms in a great setting but you are plagued by heli and micro lite noise all day if sat on the deck or round the pool" See all these reviews: 7n in Zambia

"Royal Livingstone Hotel review"

4 nights Arrived 28 Mar 2016
"Falls short of what expected in a 5 star hotel. For example, no info. in room on what is available, on opening times, no site map etc. No list of phone numbers, nor any attempt to collect guest feedback.

Staff provided info when asked on specific points, but erratically - eg., that pool available from 7am, arrived at 7-30 to be told opens at 8am. Requested a drink and a snack at 9-10 pm to be refused because they ceased snacks at 9pm - no way of knowing this in advance. When we arrived were asked to wait while receptionist checked our room ready. 40 minutes later, gave-up and went for lunch. Bottled water from previous day is removed from room after breakfast but, oddly, not replaced until early evening.

Staff cheerful and aimed to help, but obvious shortcomings in training. Management might learn a great deal from a short visit to the Victoria Falls Hotel.

Rooms were perfectly large enough, despite many negative comments on Tripadvisor. and elsewhere regarding their size." See all these reviews: 4n in Zambia; 3n in Zimbabwe; 3n in Namibia

"This is a magnificient place in a great location.

Very frinedly staff. You could not get a better place, - when at the pool you see the mist from the Victoria falls." See all these reviews: 9n in Namibia; 3n in Zambia

"A Hotel as it should be"

2 nights Arrived 6 Nov 2015
"We saw the Falls in full flood last year. This year there was a draught and next to no water in the Falls. We went swimming in the Devils pool at the top of the Falls, a spooky experience to say the least.

The Hotel may be old but is still an excellent site with the best of services and an unbeatable location.

Why stay anywhere else one would have to say?" See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia

Staying at the hotel after the safari was definitely the best way to end the holiday - gave us time to relax and enjoy some free time. Would definitely stay there again." See all these reviews: 9n in Botswana; 3n in Zambia

"wonderful falls, hotel a mixed bag"

3 nights Arrived 25 Jul 2015
"Beautiful hotel in a beautiful park right on the Zambesi. Excellent location for visiting the falls. The room was very good. Dinner on 2 nights was good, once the offered menues were quite limited. Breakfast was satisfactory, on one morning it was poor (empty plates, slow order executon). Disturbing were a lot of people sitting in the area waiting for departure. It felt like in a youth camp.

Spa was very expensive with poor quality of nail polish. The water in the pool was full of dead flies.

Two people were outstanding: the lady concierge who was very effective and who helped us overcome a serious problem with an unexpected flight cancellation. The second was a receptionist which came to our bungalow to help us with the internet, which as it turned out, is very unstable.

The sundown boat trip on the river was expensive but very beautiful. Staff and service were really enjoyable and you get a lot of snacks and drinks!" See all these reviews: 5n in Botswana; 3n in Zambia

"A wonderful location.

The hotel was excellent but " Africa -lite ". It could have been anywhere in the world but with tame zebras, giraffes and impala .

A good last stop to bridge the move from Africa to Europe." See all these reviews: 17n in Zambia

"Incredibly posh"

2 nights Arrived 16 Sep 2014
"Great location a few minutes walk from the falls. Not close to town, but the hotel was so nice that we were never tempted to leave.

Our room had a beautiful enclosed riverfront porch and all the amenities. Each group of rooms had a day and an evening butler to help with anything and everything. Experienced a classic high tea overlooking the falls, but that was overshadowed by a delicious gracious dinner." See all these reviews: 4n in South Africa; 3n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia
