"My Oct 2017 trip"

I visited Zambia and 1 other country between 1 Oct 2017 and 17 Oct 2017
"We made a fantastic trip!

I really want to thank Megan for preparing it so well and for all the little attentions paid everywhere for our anniversary.

Thank you specifically for our anniversary celebration at Royal Livingstone that was fantastic.

Already looking forward to our next trip!" Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zambia safari

"KAFUE NP NOT QUITE WHAT WE EXPECTED"

I visited Zambia between 7 Sep 2017 and 23 Sep 2017
"All of our accommodation we stayed in was excellent and we had an extremely enjoyable trip. Kafue NP however was disappointing to us. Firstly the majority of animals are extremely skittish and just run off as soon as they see a vehicle. There is a very distinct lack of a variety of animals that we have seen on other safaris and certainly not the place to go if you want to see lots of 'big game'. This said this though, in Busanga we were very taken with the large herds of Sable and Roan antelope who were very happy to just graze whilst you took photos. In all of our trips we have never seen that quantity of Sable and Roan.

Anyone contemplating visiting Kafue I certainly would advise light aircraft from Lusaka as the journey is almost 5 hours by vehicle, 3hrs on tarmac road on 2hrs on bumpy safari park road!

Tsetse Fly were also a big problem within the park but less so in the area surrounding Musekese Camp." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 10 on a Zambia safari

"Another great holiday in Zambia"

I visited Zambia between 30 Aug 2017 and 14 Sep 2017
"Once again our trip was well organised and we enjoyed all the places where we stayed. I knew the type of camps we wanted to stay in and the areas we wanted to see and Claire did a very good job in matching these requirements to the appropriate camps. All the transfers and internal flights went smoothly making for a very stress free holiday.

South Luangwa as usual had lots of animals and birds to see and this far into the park there were very few other vehicles around.

It was our first trip to Kafue and I had chosen to go there to try and see more variety of antelope. I was a little disappointed with the game viewing at Musekese - although the camp and the people were great and we loved the river trips - but that is the lucky dip of safaris. There was evidence of lots of animals there we just didn't see them on this trip. Busanga however was better than expected with lots to see although with rather more distance to cover.

The quality of the guides was excellent in all the camps but special mention to Andrew best of them all." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 15 on a Zambia safari

"My Jul 2017 trip"

I visited Zambia between 25 Jul 2017 and 5 Aug 2017
"The trip was wonderful, the only issue being the ground transportation, or lack thereof, from the Lusaka airport to Latitude 15. I would recommend Musekese to anyone as a place to go in the Kafue National Park, not overdone as some of the South Luangwa camps and lodges have become, but more in tune with the area and the game around it." "My Jun 2017 trip"

I visited Zambia and 1 other country between 9 Jun 2017 and 17 Jun 2017
"We had a wonderful stay in Zambia, only wished it could have lasted longer... We had only one problem and that was due to the delayed KLM flight from Oslo to Amsterdam which made us miss our connecting flight to Johannesburg. Consequently we lost an entire day of our safari. Fortunately, we got very efficient and professional help from Megan at Expert Africa; she did the necessart re-bookings and informed Musekese Camp of our one day delay.

We were very pleased with both of the camps we were staying, indeed, at Tafika we had stayed before and knew its high standard. All the transfers went without problems, we were met by representatives of the camps at the airports and transported safely to the camps. Everything was well organized.

Of course, quite a few hours were spent travelling from one camp to the other, but that is only what has to be expected when you like to visit places that are really remote. The good thing about all our hours on the road, was that we felt we saw a lot of the country, which is interesting in itself." Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zambia safari

"South Luangwa & Kafue Oct 2016"

I visited Zambia between 3 Oct 2016 and 15 Oct 2016
"Trip was fantastic. Freddie had really taken on board the type of trip we were looking for with small remote bush camps, and walking safaris focussing on the ecology of the bush. The variety and interest were ideal for us.

Although the parks are quite far apart, we are really glad we visited 2 different ones. South Luangwa had the highest concentration of game you can imagine, but also the highest temperatures. Kafue was refreshingly cooler, with some different species, and still plenty of the larger game.

We loved Zambia and would definitely go back again, and certainly use Expert Africa to plan our itinerary.

"My Sep 2016 trip"

I visited Zambia between 20 Sep 2016 and 7 Oct 2016
"We enjoyed our Zambian safari, experiencing areas we hadn't visited before and seeing cheetah again! On reflection we could have done with 3 nights less, as the heat became quite debilitating but then we wouldn't have wanted to miss any of the camps as they were all so contrasting. Happily the tsetse flies in Kafue were not as bad as we had feared.

In hindsight we did seem to spend (waste) far too much time transferring between parks. The Kafue to Lusaka road transfer was a mistake and not worth the cost saving. The Jeki transfer got us to Lusaka far too early for the Emirates connection, although there wasn't a later alternative. In short, we saw far too much of Lusaka airport (a dire environment) - not the best use of time." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 15 on a Zambia safari

"Excellent return trip to Zambia"

I visited Zambia between 5 Sep 2016 and 23 Sep 2016
"There was no-one to meet us at the airport when we arrived at Lusaka. We scoured the airport and found someone from Tours Africa but he said that they had not been asked to pick us up. After speaking to what seemed to be everyone in the Airport the Tours Africa rep came back and apologised and said it was entirely their fault and then took us to the hotel but we wasted over half an hour.

Tsetses were an issue, as we can both react badly to them. Much worse in South Luangwa than last time and we had one particularly bad Tsetse walk in North Luangwa. We were expecting them in Kafue - Musekese was better than expected, Busanga Plains much worse. All the camps were free of tsetses.

Disappointing that information on the Expert Africa website is inaccurate. Overall service from Expert Africa was very good, as usual. However......although the wallet is better than the old one, I still think it is daft to give people a wallet every time they travel - I won't use it again and it will join the other 2 wallets in my desk drawer. A shirt would give Expert Africa free advertising as well as being useful for the recipient (I've mentioned this before but it fell on deaf ears!).

I also think you should ask if people want a copy of Zambia before you sent it. When I got mine I thought it was a new edition but found it was identical, so it went straight to recycling." Read full review: 18 nights in Africa; 18 on a Zambia safari

"Safari to Kafue and South Luangwa 2016"

I visited Zambia between 1 Sep 2016 and 14 Sep 2016
"The game viewing exceeded our expectations, the camps were excellent and it was a wonderful holiday. A real bonus was the fact that you can go on night drives with a spotlight in Zambian Natiional Parks. This makes for an excellent, full and diverse second half of the day with, typically, a 2 hour afternoon game drive, sundowner drinks and then an hour's night drive. We saw a lot of nocturnal creatures including white tailed mongoose, genets, civets, hyenas and bushbabies." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Zambia safari
