"My June 2023 trip"

I visited Zambia between 18 Jun 2023 and 30 Jun 2023
"I had visited three of the camps on this trip in 2022. So I knew quite a lot about them. Busanga Plains was a first visit for me.

Love Chisa Busanga particularly the birds nest rooms.

The plains are quite different to the Lower Zambezi and Luangwa parks. Wetlands nor unlike the Okavango delta.

On my trip in 2022 I witnessed lots of wild dog action in both parks which was the highlight of my trip. This time not quite as much.

Overall a very enjoyable trip." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 12 on a Zambia safari

"Zambia two years late!"

I visited Zambia between 17 Oct 2022 and 7 Nov 2022
"This trip, like those of many others, was originally booked for 2020 and then postponed again in 2021. This time it was brought forward by a few days and a couple of nights added at the start to take advantage of Emirates pricing. All arrangements went smoothly.

As a first trip to Zambia we chose to visit three national parks (Kafue/ South Luangwa/Lower Zambezi) and were glad we did as they were very different, as were the camps selected. We were a little disappointed by the variety of birds seen and fewer than expected leopards in their supposed hot spot of South Luangwa.

There were film crews in South Luangwa and Kafue throughout our stays which, on occasions, inhibited our access and positioning at sightings. This was a VERY expensive trip and we did not expect our experience to be limited by them taking priority!

However, overall we had a terrific time with plentiful sightings and photos to prove it.

Our vegetarian diet was brilliantly catered for at every camp and of the three parks Lower Zambezi was our favourite." Read full review: 21 nights in Africa; 19 on a Zambia safari

"My September 2022 trip"

I visited Zambia between 14 Sep 2022 and 29 Sep 2022
"Zambia is one of our favourite safari destinations and we wanted to return to Old Mondora and the Lower Zambezi. On prior trips we had visited both the North and South Luangwa Valley so we decided to visit Kafue.

Overall, we enjoyed our time in Kafue and would consider returning to the Busanga Plain but would be very mindful of camp location relative to accessing the plain.

" Nov 2021 trip"

I visited Zambia between 7 Nov 2021 and 26 Nov 2021
"Luc and I had a wonderful trip to Kafue NP and South Luangwa NP in November 2021. The itinary created by Claire was excellent, first Kafue then South Luangwa.

Three weeks was an adequate time to appreciate the areas visited and to rest. We met dedicated people and visited beautiful landscapes.

We keep cherished memories of these three weeks.

"My Oct 2021 trip"

I visited Zambia between 21 Oct 2021 and 9 Nov 2021
"Zambia and all lodges were absolutely beautiful and we'd like to come back and recommend to everybody who is interested in.

We also were very lucky with the weather conditions.

Lusaka is not worth to see it. Typical big city with nice areas but nothing special.

"My Oct 2021 trip"

I visited Zambia between 17 Oct 2021 and 3 Nov 2021
"Overall, game is very good across 3 NPs (South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, Kafue).
- Numerous lion sightings, but lions are the most majestic at Busanga Plains
- 13 unique leopard sightings, some with cubs, one feeding on an impala kill on the tree.
- Carmine bee eater colony was a bit smaller than usual at Shenton's hide this year, but saw the one near to Nkwali Camp from across the river. That colony was bigger.
- Not much luck on dog sightings except seeing the same pack twice in Mfuwe sector, and they were resting
- Game appears to be the strongest at South Luangwa northern sector. Lions were feeding on buffalo or hippo kills everyday

I have no hesitation in recommending all camps to future travelers
- Except for Mukambi Lodge/Mukambi Plains Camp, until the guiding issues are addressed.

Other notes to assist future travelers: PCR test
- Nature By Nature DNA Research Laboratory delivered as promised.
- Returned to Lusaka at 12 noon
- Swabbed at 1 pm
- Received results electronically (email/whatsapp) at 3 pm
- Was hand-delivered hardcopy results at 4 pm
- Left for airport at 7 pm.
- Flew out same day without issues.
- Healit Zambia now has a test center at Lusaka Airport, but it is not yet fully operational. I think it will be be up and running by next year. It is on the right hand side as you enter the departure hall of the new airport.

"My Aug 2021 trip"

I visited Zanzibar and 3 other countries between 5 Aug 2021 and 26 Aug 2021
"This was our third trip with Expert Africa - I believe it's no coincidence that the Bradt Africa guides are simply the best ones on the market and that Expert Africa are extraordinary in the depth of their knowledge of the situation on the ground and in their capacity to coordinate and synchronise everything to make it an excellent trip for a family with young children.

The team doesn't shy away from having you face some challenging hikes and let you contrast more adventurous camping surroundings with (by then, you feel, properly earned) luxury.

I saw some of the most amazing sights and things in Africa, which I would not have found without the guidance of Expert Africa. And for the unforseeable and unavoidable occasional hick ups, the team is there to help where they can.

I hope Expert Africa stays a well kept secret." Read full review: 21 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zanzibar holiday

"My Jun 2021 trip"

I visited Zambia between 24 Jun 2021 and 8 Jul 2021
"Travelling to Africa at the time of Covid was a challenge. We were pretty sure about our target camps and were delighted with our choices. But none of this would have been possible without having been supported all way long by Megan.

Zambian entry rules changed literally 3 times in 3 months and especially twice in the 2 weeks prior departure. Megan kept daily contact with camps always leaving the option to cancel and get fully refunded till last possible moment. What was determining for our choice to fly in, was the direct contact I could have with Dave, their local handling agent who described honestly and openly how things were happening locally. The openness of the whole team how they would deal with forced quarantaine, border closing or airline flight suspension was the decisive factor.

Expert Africa and their local Zambian contacts have earned our outmost trust and respect. Special mention to Dave at Lusaka airport who had spontaneously printed all latest entry rules in our home country which facilitated with airline and immigration agents.

Can't wait to use your services for our next trip to Africa!

A special note as well to mention the opportunity to speak to EA staff Expert in Zambia who gave us his personal opinion on a series of camps so we could confront our wishes vs his own experience.

Also thank you to Chris himself [Ed: Expert's MD] who did not hesitate to answer email himself when Megan was out of office even for a couple of days only." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 13 on a Zambia safari
