Ruaha National Park

Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park.

It offers guided walking safaris...

...where you might spot some of the park’s fantastic birdlife...

...as well as a good amount of wildlife.

Ruaha is known for its dramatic scenery, including rolling hills...

...and open plains with skeletal baobab trees.

Ruaha’s wild and untrammelled feel sets it apart from other reserves.

"Ruaha & Mafia"

I visited Tanzania between 28 Dec 2009 and 8 Jan 2010
"Overall, a good combination 5 Nights in Ruaha and 4 Nights on Mafia. Would definately consider going back to Ruaha at another time to see it in the dry season.

My generic comment about the trip was Ellie at Expert Africa. She provided excellent advice, information, suggested itinaries, alternative and answered a number of silly questions. In fact when BA cancelled our flight back from Dar es Salaam, she even contacted us to see if BA were sorting it out and we were being looking after. we then had a number of text (SMS) exchanges as she check status, etc.

Apart for the BA issues above, everything worked out exactly as planned, being met and escorted between each transfer point.

I would definately consider using Expert Africa again (especially Ellie) and no hesitation recommending to friends, etc.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

I would recommend reviewing you entries for Kwihala as the basis for the camp seems to be changing. In particular I understand it will no longer move and that the Bucket showers will be replaced by a normal shower.

The brochure, made me think where we might go, the web site help narrow down the options and Ellie provide the detailed knowledge and advice to finalist the trip including quotations. All elements were intrical and the speedy, informative response of Ellie was a key factor in choosing to book with Expert Africa. I did contact 3 providers with my initial ideas and Ellie initial response was by far the best." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

"A wonderful trip"

I visited Tanzania between 14 Nov 2009 and 30 Nov 2009
"The combination of Safari, Ras mbisi on Mafia , Ras Kutani and coastal /precision flights alongside me booking Kilwa and the Old Boma in Mikindani meant we had a perfect mix of wildlife, relaxing, adventure and luxury!

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Try to branch out on totally safe resorts. The ras Kutani 's of this world whilst definitely luxury sometimes feel like you are in a western bubble. Obviously you are appealing to clients who want this on the whole but it seems that some of the less well trodden paths would benefit from excellent travel agents.

I thought Expert Africa provided a reassuring and knowledgeable guide whilst arranging our trip. Thank you." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 3 on a Tanzania safari

"A wonderful safari experience in Tanzania"

I visited Tanzania between 17 Oct 2009 and 30 Oct 2009
"We had a wonderful safari in Tanzania and as usual returned home wanting to go back to Africa again.
The lodges were just as described in your brochure and we were extremely lucky with the game that we saw.
We wanted to see Leopard, Cheetah and Wild Dogs and saw all of these and more.

Thank you very much to Ellie for her help and advice and patience with us changing our minds on a number of occasions before finalising the holiday.

"Safaris camps and safaris fantastic"

I visited Tanzania between 17 Oct 2009 and 25 Oct 2009
"10 out of 10

We loved every bit of our time in the bush - wish it could have been a lot longer - we didn't really need a night in Dar at the end however.

We'll be back !

"Wonderful 15 days safariing"

I visited Tanzania between 12 Oct 2009 and 27 Oct 2009
"It was a very good holiday. Although we have not visited (yet) the North, the South of Tanzania is still devoided of mass tourism ( although one can already see it coming due to the Zanzibar/Mafia vicinity). Selous and Ruaha are really precious. Animals are still afraid/ cautious of Land Rovers.

Unfortunately, we did see some pouching activity at Mikumi (was reported to the camp manager and Park Rangers) and we sincerely hope that was just for bush meat.

Thank you for another wonderful holiday." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 14 on a Tanzania safari

"Wondreful safari and finish with nice dive"

I visited Tanzania between 10 Oct 2009 and 25 Oct 2009
"We had a very good trip and we are very happy to do it with Expert Africa. All the information that Eleanor gave us before our departure on the camps and the parks were very honest and correct. Maybe more clarification was needed on Mafia Marine park entrance fees, but it was also our mistake.

We were very happy to deal with Eleanor and whole Expert Africa team. Thanks." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

"whole trip feedback"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 29 Sep 2009 and 13 Oct 2009
"We had a fantastic honeymoon.

Very well organised trip and good advice about where to stay and length of time etc.

Would like to note that our transfer from zanzibar airport to shooting star never arrived, so we waited a while, and then had to take a taxi to the eco and culture tours office in stonetown, they check and stated they has us down to be picked up a month later, and didnt really appear very apologetic. We also then had to continue in the taxi ( with no air conditioning) - wasnt sure why they could not have taken us from there. Howevere they did turn up promptly for our other transfers. This was the only thing that went wromg, and meant we arrived at the back about 2 hours after we would have got there." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 7 on a Tanzania safari
