"Manta Review"
7 nights Arrived 18 Jul 2015
"The hosting here from our personal Butler Haji B was fantastic. This really made our stay all the more memorable. The diving was very nice - although don't expect to see too many large fish as the local fisherman seem to be managing the stock of these very effectively. However, the coral is outstanding.
We felt that, for the price we paid, the rooms lacked charm. The internal design and general ambiance of the resort left a bit to be desired. The owners could easily make this an outstanding place with a bit of focus on their interior design.
We stayed one night in an Underwater Hotel room. As with the rest of the hotel, this also seemed to lack the finishing touches. However, it is a truly unique place.
In general, despite being very well hosted as well as the surrounding beach and coral being fantastic, there are better beach options in this part of the world." See all these reviews: 12n in Tanzania

"A wonderful tranquil haven!"
7 nights Arrived 16 Nov 2014
"Where do I start? This place is wonderful, peaceful and we (mother & daughter for a change) loved it:
It is a special place in an (as yet) totally unspoilt location - azure blue seas, coral reefs, white sands and complete tranquility.
We tuned in to the daily rythmns of the tide and the quiet beach, watching the local fishermen taking their boats out and the women picking seaweed at low tide. Pre breakfast snorkeling was magic; lots of amazing marine life to be seen. Diving is a must if you like the water; we had good tuition at the PADI dive centre which is part of the resort (thank you Mike and Wilbert!).
There is the danger of being offered a drink at any time of day.. What a luxury to be just offered a drink and brought a cold beer on the beach; to have a predinner sundowner cocktail (or 2) on the terrace (watching the flying foxes come out) and of course, that is after the included massage or daily treatment of choice at the spa centre!
Food is good, if fresh fish orientated (surprise), and the service is excellent, with one's own 'fundi' for the duration.
This place is NOT for those who like night life and/or action! So keep away if you do - I'd hate it to be spoiled!
Can't wait to go back.." See all these reviews: 9n in Tanzania; 2n in Zanzibar
