The meandering Rufiji River lies at the heart of Nyerere National Park

It forms a complex network of channels, lakes and swamps.

It is a great place for game viewing...

...as well as admiring the beautiful scenery.

Wild dogs can be spotted...

...and also herds of elephant.

Nyerere National Park also has an extraordinary birdlife...

...with over 440 species.

...and elephants as they come down to the river.

Nyerere National Park is worth a visit.

"Wonderful trip to Tanzania and Zambia"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 30 Jun 2016 and 16 Jul 2016
"A wonderful trip! It was interesting to combine Tanzania and Zambia for the variety of wildlife sightings and changes in landscapes.

Many thanks to Claire Scott (EA) for organising it all, and especially for recommending Kigelia in Ruaha, it is an amazing place! Glad I visited Selous before Ruaha as it only got better! Chongwe River Camp in Lower Zambezi still remains my favourite camp. The team from Tours Africa in Lusaka airport also deserves a mention for being so helpful at arrivals and during transfers.

This trip was a fantastic experience from start to finish!

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Not sure you could raise standards any higher!

Third time I have used EA and have never been disappointed. Already looking forward to booking my next trip with your team in the future." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

"superb honeymoon with some amazing memories"

I visited Tanzania between 27 Jun 2016 and 7 Jul 2016
"Overall, just what we wanted. It would have been nice to see more of the big 5 but my wife saw lots of giraffes and they are her favourite so its ok!

If you are looking to guarantee seeing all the big 5 (especially lions and rhino) then I guess there are better places to go. But if like us, you are looking for the whole authentic experience without hardly seeing another vehicle then this could be for you. Some very magical moments along the way.

The tree house whole experience was very special. Seeing so many animals together by the shores of Lake Manzi, seeing hippos run, meeting two by our path on the way to bed, turning the engine off and just watching troupes of baboons etc play, and so on. The giraffes in huge numbers. Too many things to mention.

Brilliant." Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 6 on a Tanzania safari

"Tanzania/Rwanda Safari trip - Jun/Jul 2016"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 21 Jun 2016 and 9 Jul 2016
"Outstanding trip overall, perfectly matching our expectations.

James at Expert Africa listened and probed as to what we wanted and expected from our first safari experience, and then put together several itinerary options that would meet our needs. He was able to answer all our questions, and to provide us with lots of additional information that helped us in selecting the final choices for our Safari holiday." "Absolutely incredible experience"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 16 Jun 2016 and 13 Jul 2016
"I generally plan my trips myself without a lot of input from agents. This time I relied heavily on your company and felt I was well rewarded for doing so. I never would have visited Akagera, Katavi, Mahale, Ruaha, or the Selous on my own. I likely would have confined my itinerary in Tanzania to the Serengeti and maybe Ngorongoro Crater. I'm really lucky to have taken James' advice.

In fact, one of my guides in the Serengeti was extremely impressed with my chosen itinerary, commenting that he didn't see many tourists who went that route.

Again, I'm very grateful for your help and would highly recommend your company in the future." Read full review: 27 nights in Africa; 20 on a Tanzania safari

"My Jun 2016 trip"

I visited Tanzania between 15 Jun 2016 and 24 Jun 2016
"All went well through the whole trip, would have been nice to be able to have spent a day in Dar as an extra day.

As I said before everyone was helpful and friendly, the guides were excellent, again the only down side was the day flight back to Heathrow, but that out of your control.

"TANZANIA TO ZANZIBAR"

I visited Tanzania and 2 other countries between 14 Jun 2016 and 6 Jul 2016
"By ignoring the Zanzibar 5 nights I can leave the trip at Very Satisfactory. While agreeing we needed a rest after all the early starts, 3 days here would have been more than enough, though in truth it was completely the wrong call." Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 15 on a Tanzania safari

"Great return to Tanzania"

I visited Tanzania between 6 Jun 2016 and 16 Jun 2016
"This was yet another great trip with Expert Africa. You are our Go To travel company.

It was great to be back in Tanzania and we split our time between the Selous and Ruaha. We chose to stay in just two camps and that paid off as we got to know the staff and the areas a bit better. The camps complemented each other well - Sand Rivers is more obviously luxurious while Mwagusi is very comfortable but keeps a welcome sense of the bush and the 'old days'.

We went at the very beginning of the dry season - the up side was there were fewer guests there; the down side was the bush was still very green and dense so our guides had to work a bit harder to find the game - but we saw loads!

Expert Africa, you maintained your usual high standards and everything ran smoothly. Thanks again!

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Keep going! Keep specialising in Africa. Keep a real range of camps - the basic and the old-fashioned are an endangered species these days." Read full review: 10 nights in Africa; 9 on a Tanzania safari

"Tanzania in the (very) Wet Season"

I visited Tanzania between 11 Feb 2016 and 27 Feb 2016
"Wonderful!! Chris and his team at Expert Africa are always brilliant - there is always someone in the office who has visited the places we want to visit and can give in depth information and advice. Thank you Ellie for all your help and advice and, also, Liz who took over whilst Ellie was on Honeymoon and had to sort out last minute changes when one of our chosen camps was closed by unusual weather conditions.

Just one very slight niggle - getting the Tanzanian visas on arrival in Dar proved to be a bit of a nightmare. There is no organisation resulting in passports for each member of the group being returned haphazardly one taking over an hour to handed back .TAB ( that's Africa baby!!)

We think that it is definitely worth the extra expense of applying for the visas in U.K.
