"Southwest Tanzania - Feb/Mar 2017"
I visited Tanzania between 19 Feb 2017 and 2 Mar 2017
"This trip was on our bucket list since a few years and finally it materialised. Travelling in the wet season gives you certain benefits, green, less people and good bird viewing. The wet season is "wet" thus whenever the weather showed it sunny side, it was and added benefit.
All preparation from the initial contact with Expert Africa to the return home worked flawlessly, especially good follow up before the trip from Expert Africa reminding us about insurances, overseas flight information etc.
What we missed to arrange upfront was the long wait at our last day, from arriving in Dar to our overseas flight. This we could sort out locally with the company who organised transfers at our arrival the first day - they supported us with transfer to Slipway (beachfront Dar), looking after our luggage and then taking us back to the airport in time for our flight back home." "My only adverse comment is that we could have been warned before booking of some of the disadvantages of individual camps and lodges. I might have selected different locations, had I been in possession of the excellent Bradt guide before booking.

"As a whole, the trip was fabulous. With Elizabeth's help in the planning stage, I believe that we created a trip with the appropriate number of stops ( not too many) and a perfect mix of interesting, different locations.
The logistics of the vacation were excellent. There was not a single "hitch" in any of our transfers. Each and every guide/driver was gracious, efficient ---- a pleasure to be with.

"We were very pleased with our trip.
Some people may think it odd to spend the visit in one park, but it gave us the chance to see the different environments in a leisurely way, something we enjoy immensely.

"superb - can't wait to go back. However, with 4 nights in a camp I would take a morning off the game drives next time to have a lie-in and a break from being windswept in the open vehicle!

"We had been to Mikumi (the old Foxes Camp on the same site as Stanley's Kopje) about 12 - 15 years ago and hadn't seen very much. This time we saw a lot more, thanks largely to Clarence, our driver/guide.
