"Go to experience a bit of local colour"

1 night Arrived 8 Sep 2014
"Molopo Lodge reminded me of the country hotels I used to visit in South Africa 40 years ago. Many locals in the bar and reps staying overnight.

The windmill festooned with ostrich eggs and porcupine quills in the dining room and the huge rhino sculpture are some of the numerous eccentricities of the place. Rooms adequate and clean. Some of the main courses are reheated frozen so stick to the steaks. Convenient to the Transfrontier park" See all these reviews: 13n in South Africa

"Molopo Kalahari Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 28 Jul 2009
"Our only disappointment - the accommodation was cute but the freezer part of the fridge had defrosted over the floor and we were told it was ready. When we arrived, we did not immediately feel welcome, rather that we were intruding on their afternoon. So I mopped the floor!

The restaurant was very disappointing - there were very few people eating and the menu was 'fast food'. Not learning from our experience, we ordered lunch packs to take the next day - they turned out to be a cold hamburger and a cold piece of chicken, both of which had been put on bread when hot! The result was not good and we had paid N$ 70.00!" See all these reviews: 24n in Namibia; 11n in South Africa
