"This was the first trek of our trip.

It was a reasonably strenuous trek along paths on a steepish slope. The guide was very knowledgable, the trackers did a good job locating chimps for us. The use of the porters helped especially with the slippery slopes.

We saw numerous chimps on the ground and in the trees.

"This was an early start, but very much worth it.

We did have quite a drive initially to get to the trail head (about an hour), but the visit itself was well organised - although a challenge hiking at pace in the steep and muddy terrain.

We would definitely recommend a porter - it is hard to balance to take photos on steep slopes with a day-pack on and the Chimpanzees don't stay still for long and were mainly in the trees!

"The terrain was very difficult and I was exceptionally pleased to have a porter to help. The views of the chimps when we finally caught up with them were distant so binoculars were necessary for any details.

"Incredible - second trek was unbelievable as chimps were moving on the forest floor.

They came so close and were so relaxed around us.

"Of all the Treks we experience, this was the most difficult.

We trekked 20kms and 5 hours to see the Chimps. Worth every step! In Vancouver BC, Canada were we are from, we are at sea level. The 8000 elevation above sea level was factor. Would do it over and over again.

Saw about 20 chimps up a tree eating figs. Eventually they call came down very close to us and then disappeared into the undergrowth.

"Nice hike in the rainforest, but be aware that the pathways can be rather slippery and steep. At least you need some basic condition, not for the less agile.

We were lucky to find some chimpanzees rather fast, but when they started moving we had to stop the chase. Sights are not always easy because of the thick vegetation.
