"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 25 Nov 2011
"Sadly we only stayed on night at Erongo.

Great setting amongst the hills and kopjies of the Erongo Conservancy. Particularly liked the wooden walkways connecting the tents and the rest of the camp. Although we were only there briefly, we did take advantage of a couple of walks. The morning walk was excellent. A really knowledgable and enthusiastic guide, perfect pace and just right to set us up for a nice breakfast! It would be a shame not to take advantege of the walks around the lodge.

We had a nice evening meal, and the staff and managers were very friendly and helpful." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia

"A tent at last"

2 nights Arrived 12 Nov 2011
"Had been expecting tents at other locations and at last we were in one - but a luxury tent will all mod cons.

Kept awake when the wind was howling and the sides blowing so glad it was only for 2 nights." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia

"Simply excellent"

1 night Arrived 6 Oct 2011
"What a breath of fresh air after Ongava. I now see why they do not allow two wheel drive cars up the entry road, which was easy with 4wd. Everyone was really friendly without looking as though they were waiting for a tip. The rest of the family went on a self guided walk up one of the hills following the map provided. We went on a sundowner walk, and a morning walk which the guide tailored to ensure that we got back in time to have breakfast and get away for the airport. On the morning walk, we saw Klipspringer and damara Dik Dik, and a black mongoose at breakfast. The guides were excellent. The food was excellent and the waiter did a great job. The rooms are well thought out and the location was simply stunning. We all thought it was wonderful and could not find anything to criticise. Our only regret was that we only stayed for one night and I think that Expert Africa should strongly suggest staying for two, but not more. It was a wonderful place to spend our last night and we would certainly want to go there again if we return to Namibia.

It was suggested by Expert Africa that we drove on tarred road back to Windhoek via Karibib, but at the manager's suggestion, we used the C36 to Wilhemstal which saves 34 km. This road is a wide gravel road in very good condition, with much of it recently graded. The journey back to the airport took three and a half hours because of slow vehicles into and out of Windhoek. I suspect it might be nearly as fast, and more fun, to take the back roads avoiding Windhoek." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 30 Sep 2011
"Wonderful setting with comfortable tented rooms scattered amongst the rocks. Lovely veranda with excellent views including a beautiful sunrise.

Very welcoming and relaxed with very good food. In our brief stay we followed a marked trail, again with fantastic views, and went on a guided sundowner stroll with gin and tonic. Everyone at the lodge was very friendly and everything worked very well.

Easy access but felt very remote. We'd go for two nights next time" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

2 nights Arrived 25 Sep 2011
"The weather was very hot when we were at Erongo Wilderness Lodge. After the morning walk (starting at 6:30 or 7:00 AM) and breakfast there was nothing to do until the temperature started cooling off around 5:00 p.m. We either read books in our hot tent or sat in the dining room during the day. Also there were lots of mosquitoes. The tents did not keep out the mosquitoes due to velcro closures that didn't close properly.

We did enjoy the lovebirds that gathered in the trees near the dining room every morning around 7:00 a.m." See all these reviews: 20n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 31 Jul 2011
"Wonderful location, interesting 'chalets' which were clean and comfortable as luxury tented accommodation.

When we stayed, it was a bit windy. We had hot water bottles but inevitably there were a lot of draughts and flapping canvas! Excellent food, great guide for evening and morning walk (Heidi), plus waiter in restaurant was effecient, very cheerul and a wonderful source of information and stories.

Management were helpful and attentive although they seemed quite new and in process of developing their own systems and hotel culture." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Erongo Wilderness Lodge review"

1 night Arrived 28 Jul 2011
"Erongo is beautiful, the people, the lodge, the nature arround. Next day we climbed two of the sorrunding mountains accompanied by a very kind guide.

Even the travel was long on the gravel road, night was very cold in the tent and open bathroom, I felt sorry to leave." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia
