"Beautiful Lodge in a stunning location"

2 nights Arrived 6 Oct 2019
"EWL took our breath away! Comfy tented chalets set apart from each other on different levels along attractive walkways and surrounded by the Erongo mountains. Lots of steps up to very attractive main lounge, dining area and pool so need to be reasonably mobile.

With a Guide we did a late afternoon walk, which we found a bit of a challenge but thoroughly enjoyed, to see the cave paintings followed by sundowners which were very welcome as it was still quite hot. On our second day we did an easy early morning 2 hr walk, again with a Guide, to explore the beautiful mountain area and learn about the plants and trees.

Food and service was excellent, great choices, lots of fresh produce and a camp fire to sit by after our evening meal whilst we watched the stars.

We saw lots of birds at Erongo which was an area of particular interest for me." See all these reviews: 8n in Namibia; 4n in South Africa; 3n in Botswana

"Fantastic walks"

1 night Arrived 4 Oct 2019
"Even though this was just a one night stop in between Windhoek and Etosha, we really enjoyed it here and were sad to leave. The view from our room was beautiful and it was just a lovely peaceful place to get in tune with nature.

We did the sundowner walk in the evening and then a more challenging, longer walk in the morning. Both were hugely enjoyable and our knowledgeable guide introduced us to the flora and fauna of the area, which was really interesting. Later in our trip we would encounter the big mammals in Etosha, but it was equally fascinating to learn all about the native plants and insects. The evening/early morning time of the activities also meant we got some really beautiful photos.

Service was also very attentive but in a nice relaxed way, and the food was very good." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Excellent place to stay"

1 night Arrived 7 Sep 2019
"This is another fantastic place to stay.

However, the night we were there had the biggest winds in recent times. The tent walls were flapping. Curtains inside were blowing horizontally. But it was an experience that we were well pleased to have.

This is another place that needs to ask your age and ability. Most of the tents are up a hillside, with steep steps and loose wooden railings. The steps are cut into the hillside stone and uneven. The food was well cooked and presented." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia

"Adored this lodge could have stayed longer"

1 night Arrived 3 Sep 2019
"The setting for this lodge is wonderful and such a surprise. The views are amazing. We had 2 tent/chlates side by side for us & daughter and son-in law with a great kitchen diner sitting room in a 3rd tent. If only we had been here long enough to use it!!

The open bathrooms were fabulous. It is funny to brush your teeth and shower with dassies sitting close by on the rocks watching!

We really enjoyed the food in the main lodge and the fact that dinner was served on the terrace overlooking the water hole. Our waiter was such a lovely kind man. Some lovely birds come to the lodge. The walks are lovely to do in the morning and we climbed the big hill behind the lodge to appreciate the stunning views. Enjoyed the pool.

We should have had longer here" See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia

"Unique experience at Erongo"

2 nights Arrived 2 Sep 2019
"The Erongo Wilderness Lodge offers a unique experience in very well equipped tented chalets set in the Erongo mountains. Our chalet had a large deck with comfy chairs and lounger overlooking the distant plains. The camp manager, Katherine, was very accommodating and helped a lot with arranging activities. Our guide for all our activities. "Gelasius", was very knowledgeable about fauna and flora of the area and had a very endearing personality. The food and the service in the restaurant was excellent, with dinner served on the outside deck. The sundowner walk was a highlight, hiking to the top of a kopje to see the sun set. Would also recommend the sundowner excursion to Paulas Cave. The lodge has a nice little pool set into the hillside but only has room for a few comfortable lounge chairs.
All in all a great stay" See all these reviews: 22n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"We stayed here for a very short time as we were on the way to the airport.
The pool is tiny but we had a lovely sunrise walk up the rock behind the lodge and saw lots of baboons.
Lighting in the rooms could be improved." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia
