"Lovely Lagoon camp!"

3 nights Arrived 26 Nov 2007
"Another lovely setting, quite serene and picturesque. Staff were very friendly and amusing.

Our first snake encounter - came across a python which was 2 metres long and moved pretty quickly!

Experienced 2 wild dog chases both of which ended in a kill right before our eyes! Exhilirating drive through the bush trying to keep up with them. KB and AT are driver and tracker kept us amused and were very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. This was a great end to our stay in Botswana." "Wild dogs at Kwando"

3 nights Arrived 21 Nov 2007
"The highlight was a pack of 13 wild dogs and the hippos walking past the tent at night. Generally the game was plentiful.

A very well run and organised camp in a lovely setting." See all these reviews: 13n in Botswana; 7n in Zanzibar; 3n in Zambia

"Amazing Kwando safaris - Lagoon camp"

3 nights Arrived 17 Nov 2007
"The camp, it's staff, the food, our guide and tracker were all very good and friendly.

Although all our guides and trackers were excellent Kaybee and Baruti (sorry may have spelt names incorrectly) stood out. We tracked three cheetahs for well over an hour and found them. Following the wild dogs on a hunt was truely amazing.

The ostrich we had one night was lovely." See all these reviews: 8n in Botswana

"Fabulous experience at Kwando Lagoon"

2 nights Arrived 7 Nov 2007
"The Kwando Lagoon Camp experience was amazing - albeit unbelievably expensive.

Overall this was one of the highlights of our trip and we would most definitely visit again (once we have saved up more money or robbed a bank !!)" See all these reviews: 3n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana

"Kwando Lagoon"

3 nights Arrived 7 Nov 2007
"The Kwando ethos seems to be primarily about the wildlife. The game here was brilliant, first afternoon yielded wild dog interaction with a Hyena and a Leopard on a kill, surprisingly these standards were kept up.

The tracker/guide system employed provides results, combined with the willingness to drive off roads for long periods give you the best chance of good wildlife experiences not just sightings.

Camp facilities whilst very good, are not quite to the same level. There are plusher camps in existence, this is reflected in relatively small tents compared to some and a camp that is quite compact.

Food of good quality, frequent and generous!" See all these reviews: 9n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia

"First trip to Botswana and Wild Dogs"

2 nights Arrived 2 Oct 2007
"First impressions were more upmarket than Namibia in service safaris but this was to be expected.

We were collected by vehicle from river and taken within minutes to see whole pack of wild dog they had found early morning. Nice tented accom loads of room and everything well organised. Drivers allocated to us were excellent - found dogs again the following evening after tracking for hours. Very well looked after and interested in everything you wanted to see." "Lagoon Camp"

2 nights Arrived 30 Sep 2007
"*Great*. Well run, efficient, friendly people, very good food, everything worked.
Excellent game drives, superb knowledge of wildlife behaviour, very good spotters. Once there were tracs, we just drove off-road to follow the game.

Kwando camps were the only ones that had night drives, although night drives are advertised by Wilderness Safaris. The afternoon drives were not time-limited, we just went on as long as there was anything to see, also for quite a while after dark.

At Lagoon our guide was the manager, Jonah. He is absolutely outstanding; Plenty of animals, wonderful birds, we got really close for photography. We spotted a leopard in a tree, watching a buffalo heard; Jonah approached with infinite caution - we watched the cat in the tree, coming down and going up another tree, for quite a while and quite close. Wonderful." See all these reviews: 10n in Botswana

"excellent trackers and loads of game at lagoo"

3 nights Arrived 9 Sep 2007
"the drives were great, lovely drivers and guides, very knowledgable and willing to find those wild dogs... three times!
the game was prolific and those guys know how to track it but we spotted the honey badger!
we miss the elephant at night!

the airstrip at lagoon is now closed so they are using Lebala which can mean travelling in the midday sun back to lagoon if you land in Labala at midday

we think that a fan in the room would of been a big plus
the pool filtration system had not been used and there were bugs in the water" See all these reviews: 6n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia
