"One of the Best"

3 nights Arrived 14 Sep 2017
"We entered back into Botswana from the Caprivi Strip at Ngoma, once again without difficulty. One tip however is that as Botswana is particularly keen not to let foot and mouth disease into the country, there are regulations that EVERY pair of shoes you have must be dipped in a disinfectant bath on entry. Have them easily accessible and it will avoid having to unpack your luggage to find them.

We found this spectacularly located lodge very much to our taste. High quality, friendly, informal and very efficiently run by Judy, who we understand was the relief manager - a lovely lady! As with all the places we stayed, Ngoma catered for our preference for an individual table for meals outside without any problem at all and this was appreciated.

It is outside the Chobe National Park but there is a gate within 15 minutes drive. We were there at the peak of the dry season and so the reality was that all roads lead to the river's edge as the animals all congregate there for grazing and water. Makes for good sightings of mixed game.We particularly enjoyed the all-day safari. Drive for an hour to Kasane and board the lodge's boat for a couple of hours game viewing on the Chobe river. Then travel through the park - stopping for a picnic lunch - during the afternoon back to the lodge. Recommended." See all these reviews: 10n in Zimbabwe; 6n in Botswana; 4n in Namibia

"Excellent accommodation, service, food and setting.
Although many activities were offered we were happy much of the time just to sit on the terrace and watch the animals below.

Judy, "stand-in" manageress was wonderful

"Kasane to Cape Town Days 2 and 3"

2 nights Arrived 9 Aug 2011
"Ngoma had only been open a few weeks when we visited; Expert Africa's guinea pigs! We received a friendly welcome with cool drink and hot towel. This is the only lodge we've ever stayed at where all staff make a point of coming up to you and introducing themselves – not in hope of tips but simply to be friendly. We had a full and clear explanation of the facilities and house rules (No1 Don't walk without escort when dark, No2 Enjoy yourself!)

Rooms were superbly appointed with individual terraces overlooking the river below. These have very comfortable loungers for a snooze or sunbathe, though the loungers might get in the way if you wanted to use the outdoor shower. Loved the spooky kudu lights! There are wonderful views and lots of game to watch from rooms and terraces (personal or communal). Lunch took much longer than intended as we kept running off to peer at animals through the spotting scope!

Food was delicious and beautifully presented; 'the prettiest scrambled eggs I've ever seen' as one fellow guest remarked.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who, without exception, gave great service with a smile.

We enjoyed excellent game drives (sable all over the place!!) in quiet areas of Chobe and around the lodge with Bevam in his spanking new vehicle and a great boat trip with Kevin. We had met Bevam before as he had worked at Garden Lodge on our previous visit – he remembered us but, sorry to say, it took a little while before we worked out where we'd met before.

Ngoma is a fantastic new option around Chobe and will give the established operations a run for their money." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana; 3n in South Africa
