"Another wonderful African experience"
Thank you Lucy for going the extra mile to ensure that I fitted in all the things I wanted to do in the right order all of which made for another great trip to South Africa and Victoria Falls and wasn't I lucky that you managed to organise it for the dates I requested because otherwise I wouldn't have got to go again this year!" "My Feb 2020 trip"
Thanks you Expert Africa and Asilia for a truly outstanding service.
While we are very much in tune with Asilia's values and the consistently excellent services they deliver we do hope the trend to build only high-end luxury camps is not at the expense of places like Ubuntu and Kwihala . It is not only the cost factor of these places ,which is increasingly out of our reach ,but the departure from the real wilderness bush experience which we crave." "My February 2020 trip"
A couple of our drives were impacted by some quite heavy rain but we were never not able to go out, and overall we felt - in large part thanks to our very determined guides - that our sightings were probably pretty much what we might have hoped for had the weather conformed more to the norm for the time of year.
In addition, we absolutely loved both camps, which really hit the mark for us in terms of their combination of comfort without over-the-top luxury, fantastic guiding, and excellent (but not excessively busy) locations. Many thanks to Richard (initially) and Olivia for recommending them to us." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 7 on a Kenya safari
"A Great Green Season Safari"
Tanzania had an unusually wet season. We did have quite some rain and some very dull lighting conditions but the sun came out often enough to keep us happy. Some areas in Selous and Ruaha were inaccessible but that was no issue for us, we covered a lot of ground, doing mostly full day outings.
We loved the lush green environments, it was nice to see happy animals enjoying the abundance of food. Predators were a bit scarce, and the high grass a problem for visibility sometimes but we had expected that. Birding was really good, we recorded almost 300 species and photographed about 250. Udzungwa was a really cool place to be, loved the hiking there. Snorkeling in Mafia was a revelation - like swimming in an aquarium, really beautiful. We cannot quite join in the chorus of devoted Chole followers though.

"My Jan 2020 trip"
Everyone did their best to iron out mishaps, rearrange itineraries and adapt to the unpredictable chaos due to the heavy, unending rainfall. Personally I understand that each trip will be different and no matter how much you plan...” life happens.” This trip just happened to be a bit more adventurous than what was planned; but no regrets.
My fellow travellers all report that though the trip was difficult they are completely blown away by the magnificence of Tanzania, her beauty, her glorious animals and her warm kind people. And yes, I’ll be back:)" Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 8 on a Tanzania safari
