Africa: Reviews from our travellers

"My Feb 2022 trip"
The wildlife in the Masai Mara was abundant. We saw 50+ lions, 7 cheetah, 3 leopards and 4 serval cats. Lots of elephants and topi. My guides Sophia and Dalton were very knowledgeable and good drivers. I loved our conversations over the picnic breakfasts. It was a real bonus that Tangulia gives every guest/couple/group a private car if possible.
The roads in the Masai Mara were often very bad due to the rains we would have during almost every night. In the Mara Triangle the roads are better, but there we saw less wildlife partly due to the long grass at the time.
Expert Africa has organised my stay very efficiently, as usual. I had to defer my trip twice, which was dealt with in a pleasant way by Richard Trillo." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 12 on a Kenya safari
"My Feb 2022 trip"
I terms of covid I felt quite safe in Tanzania with only a few minor exceptions, all the accommodation was selected to give an open environment most of the time so generally masks were not necessary and on safari I saw very few people with masks on.
I think Tanzania is more advanced with their vaccinations than the available online information would imply." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 10 on a Tanzania safari

I am always happy to recommend Expert Africa to fellow travellers, and although I generally deal with Richard Trillo I can say that everyone I speak to at Expert Africa is just as friendly and helpful.
A great company with great people! I look forward to planning my next trip!" Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 10 on a Kenya safari
"My Feb 2022 trip"
I was surprised and impressed by Expert Africa who took care of the hiccups and responded quite promptly to take care of the unforeseen circumstances that pop up on a trip like this.
I wish I could book EA for all of my trips, easily the best agency I have ever worked with.

"My Jan 2022 trip"
We couldn't recommend Expert Africa enough and will be booking again.
If you are reading this thinking either: should I go to Namibia, or should I travel during the final throes of Covid then without a doubt do it! We had hotels and experiences to ourselves, which money literally can't buy during normal times. This felt like an old, untraveled Africa, with 21st century luxury and conveniences." "Escaping the UK Winter, embracing PCR tests to visit"
We felt so lucky to have escaped the UK winter , passed all the various tests etc and returned home relaxed tanned and without Covid.
It was our first visit to Mozambique ( encouraged hugely by Tracy when we suggested beach !). Would highly recommend Azura Benguerra.
We know South Africa well and would normally organise most of a trip there ourselves but felt in the current world circumstances that having the support, backing and knowledge of a company like Expert Africa was very important. Thankfully we had no problems at any stage.
We are ready for the next trip soon !" Read full review: 27 nights in Africa; 8 on a South Africa trip
"My Jan 2022 trip"
The trip had been postponed once because of Covid so I'd waited a long time and was in danger of being disappointed but, really, it was much better than I'd hoped or even imagined.

"Our Jan/Feb 2022 trip"
Rwanda was the cleanest country we have ever been to. Even way out from towns people are sweeping the roadsides and trimming vegetation. The Gorillas and Golden Monkeys were great to visit.
Kenya and Tanzania were the greenest countries, recent rains. The quantities of wildlife are incredible. The guides in both countries were excellent and transportation between camps was easy and convenient.
Everywhere we went we felt very welcome.

"My Jan 2022 trip"
We had many adventures and met some wonderful people. We definitely preferred the lodges run by Wilderness Safaris and saw a level of service and hospitality above the other camps. In hindsight we would not have done two camps in Damaraland and felt it was a bit of a wasted opportunity to see another part of the country (a minor quibble).
Overall we are very happy with our experience and will (and have) recommended Expert Africa to people who might consider a trip to Africa." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip
