Stone Town

Stone Town was constructed during the 19th century...

...and hasn’t changed much since then.

You can enjoy beautiful views of the ocean...

...and discover what remained...

...from its rich history.

Stone Town is something of a labyrinth...

...with small alleys that offer places to shop and eat.

The atmosphere is unique and romantic...

...and you can watch some beautiful sunsets over the ocean.

"One to remember!"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 8 Feb 2011 and 22 Feb 2011
"We believe we got the balance and standard just about right. Gibbs Farm was the only disappointment. We would certainly return to Tanzania to include the Selous but we wouldn't necessarily wish to include Zanzibar again.

Onec you leave the main the road is terrible, so it it quite a process to get to the snorkelling.

"Overall Feedback"

I visited Tanzania and 1 other country between 20 Dec 2010 and 4 Jan 2011
"We both had a wonderful honeymoon - it surpassed expectations and every place we stayed was different but equally fantastic. It was an expensive trip but I felt it was worth every penny.

Liz in particular was amazing - right from advising and helping us put together an itinerary, to sorting our flights out in the Heathrow chaos and helping us when needed during our trip. Liz's achievement in swapping us from BA to Kenya Airways on 20 December (at virtually no extra cost), without any exaggeration, saved the whole trip.

I would whole-heartedly recommend Expert Africa to friends and family, and I'll be in touch when we visit Africa again!

Thanks again for all your hard work,

Neil and Jo

"Africa Trip"

I visited Zanzibar between 27 Nov 2010 and 8 Dec 2010
"Were visiting our daughter in Zanzibar where she is working as a doctor on a one year project, she was able to show us round Stonetown and joined us on the holiday. We found it fascinating with its' Arabic influence and enjoyed looking round the markets which we probably would have not done by ourselves, it also helped to have someone with a little swahili.

Trip was a big success and incorporated three mini holidays at Stonetown, Matemwe and Chumbe. Was a shock to the system to return to sub zero temperatures in the UK

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Only small gripe was when we arrived at Zanzibar airport we were tired after the trip and found our taxi there with a sign with our names, there were two men there, one of whom offered to carry our bags all of 10 yards and then demanded a tip when all we had was dollars, don't know whether our taxi driver knew what was going on but did not help us much." "The mixture of safari and beach was wonderful.

We weren't sure where to travel to in Africa for our holiday as there are so many options but we were very pleased with the advice we received from Expert Africa as to the destination which would most suit our needs. They worked wll to fit the holiday around our budget. Every connection/transfer ran smoothly and the choices of accommodation far exceeded our expectations.
