Greater Bushbaby Safari: Day-by-day
More detailed information of what each day entails, and the various places you’ll stay on the Greater Bushbaby Safari. Everything we do is completely tailor-made so while this is an idea which works well, we’ll always design an itinerary just for you.
Starts: Lusaka International Airport
Lusaka to South Luangwa by air & 4WD
Depart Lusaka on a 70-minute scheduled flight to Mfuwe Airport, gateway to South Luangwa National Park. Here you'll be met by your guide for the 40-minute drive in an open-topped 4WD to Luangwa Safari House, the sprawling community of Mfuwe soon giving way to open bush – and wildlife.
Luangwa Safari House
Originality and luxury come to mind when describing the grand Luangwa Safari House. With the Chindeni Hills as a backdrop, this four-bedroomed house sits within a game management area on the edge of a lagoon, overlooking the South Luangwa National Park. It is only booked by one group at a time, making it an exclusive safari retreat for a small group of friends, or a large or extended family with older children.

"amazing service from start to finish"

Luangwa Safari House is luxurious and original in its design. Robin Pope Safaris has a team dedicated to each individual family or group staying here, and aims to adapt the daily schedule to meet the interests and needs of their guests. The design of the house means that it’s not suited to very young children, but we think it works well for a group of friends or a family with older children looking for exclusivity, flexibility and great guiding in a game-rich area of the South Luangwa. Luangwa to Lower Zambezi by 4WD & light aircraft

Chongwe River House
Chongwe River House is a four-bedroomed house overlooking the Chongwe River, a tributary of the great Zambezi River and the western boundary of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Booked out exclusively by only one party of travellers at a time, it was designed with originality, space and luxury in mind, and has created quite an impression since it opened in 2006.

Chongwe River House is certainly unusual in its design, but there’s no doubting that it is both luxurious and unique.
