Excellent game viewing. Kiki our guide was excellent on birds and animals.
Staff all friendly and efficient. Great food."

Luangwa River Camp
"Luangwa River Camp review"
We had stayed 5 years ago and Jonah had been our guide then so it was great that we remebered each other. Both were excellent on birds as well as animals.
Wonderful bird sightings, with Pels fishing owl a particular highlight. Also wild dogs, lions and leopards.
As it was very hot we enjoyed cooling off in the pool. Bianca was excellent as were all the staff.
Food as at all the camps was excellent.
Crossing the river by boat was fun, a level of fitness is needed, but assistance was always at hand.
The staff at all the camps were very caring."

Tena Tena
"Tena Tena review"
Our guide Bertie remebered us and was excellent on birds and animals.
There is a very fine carmine beeater colony nearby and baby wood owls in tree in the camp.
Delightful small frogs in bathroom.
Food and staff all excellent."

Nsefu
"Nsefu review"
Accomodation more compact but with very welcome air conditioning over bed.
Visited by very large male elephant tearing branches off the tree by our front door.
Our guide Willie was excellent and with him we found wild dogs and followed them on a hunt and kill.
First time we have seen this after nearly 50 years of safaris."

Luangwa River Camp
"Luangwa River Camp review"
The staff were really friendly and Jonah our guide was excellent. He really gave us a good start for our bird list. As we were travelling as a foursome it was great to have a vehicle to ourselves. Sightings of animals was also excellent, including our first leopard.
The food was top notch. The room was comfortable, with a lovely double bed, though the rooms could do with a little bit of upgrading."

Tena Tena
"Tena Tena review"
I was very wary about walking safaris having had a bad experience some years ago, but the quality of the guide, Bertie, reassured me and I was pleased to overcome my trepidation and do 2 walks. Again animal sightings were excellent and again having just the 4 of us on the vehicle was a treat. The boat ride over to Tena Tena came as a surprise but added to the experience. All the staff were great and the food again top notch.
We were unfortunate to have some guests who wanted to play music at the bar area in the evening. I was asked by the guest in question if I objected and said I did. But really the staff should have managed this better. To be fair they said they had never had this happen before so were not really ready to deal with it.."

Kafunta River Lodge
"Kafunta River Lodge review"
It came as a bit of a disappointment that the vehicles from Kafunta had canopies as the hindered our bird watching and some animal sightings. But we got used to it. Having been spoiled by previously having a vehicle to ourselves we had to adjust to sharing with another couple. it would have been better if guests had been asked beforehand about special interests as not everyone wants to stop to identify birds.
The food at Kafunta for breakfast and lunch was good quality but the main course of some evening meals was slightly disappointing. Our first drive was a bit of a dash around the bush in search of cats and though we found a leopard we would have preferred to go more slowly and just see what we could see. But our fellow guests were happy so we accept that it is hard to please everyone."

Three Rivers Camp
"Three Rivers Camp review"
The camp truly in the wild and was full of elephants and hippos, there were lions very close by and a leopard was under our friend's tent one morning. We often had to be transported to and from the tent and bar area Our guide Jabes was excellent.
The comments about Kafunta and sharing vehicles applies to this camp too ie it would have been a good idea to ask about interests and put guests with similar interests together. This did happen but after we told the staff that there were differences about whether some guests were happy sharing with bird watchers.
The only real downside was the number of tsetse flies in the area. We were all badly bitten despite using copious amounts of insect repellant. Nothing seemed to work though the burning of elephant dung at the back of the vehicle did seem to help a bit."

Kafunta River Lodge
Spacious room."
