"We enjoyed our stay and the team at Beho could not have done more to be accommodating. Guides were very knowledgable and friendly. They offered walks as well as drives and rotated guides to provide variety.
The trip to Lake Tagalala is a great experience and not to be missed. Ditto the Tree House experience. Game viewing in the Selous, Tanzania is not as prolific as other locations. The animals are often nervous and you are unlikely to see the big five but if you have done your homework you will know this and there are plenty of the 'lesser' animals and bird life to occupy you.
The camp is spacious, as are the individual rooms, and has good facilities. Likewise the food and dining experiences are excellent.
It was our second visit, the previous visit being two years ago. The climate is harsh and the camp is showing its age - faded soft furnishings etc and if Beho wants to preserve its status as a premier camp it will require investment to update and refresh.
Finally, the vehicles are Toyota Landcruisers - noisy and low ground clearance meant they often grounded and got stuck in mud." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania

"Out of this world experience in the Selous. Felt like we were in the lost Eden, surrounded by animals, and yet in comfort and luxury.
Wonderful service from Staff and Guides excellent. We will be back, and will spread the word. Worth the price tag as this is one true 'Out of Africa' experience with a touch of colonial style and individual flare.

"Very much enjoyed Beho Beho where we spent five nights. The quality of the lodge is superior and our banda was very well designed with lovely views. The managers and staff were very friendly and their game and bird knowledge was superb. We really enjoyed the water hole and seeing the animals come up at night.
We had an excellent day trip to Lake Tagalala with very good game and bird viewing, and I did a very enjoyable morning walk in the bush.

"A fabulous safari lodge."

"We were lucky enough to be at Beho Beho at the same time as Sarah Bayliss who's family built and own the camp. Mama B made the atmosphere even more special.
The bandas were amazing, nothing better than waking up to the sun rising over the horizen and an elephant grazing direcly in front of your bed. We liked the fact that there was wifi access in the rooms but not in the communal areas - much more sociable.
The food was consistently good and plenty of it, no complaints at all.

"Place for place, this wins on the best all round guides. In most camps you have one guide, so it's hard to judge. In this camp you are mixed about with several - at first that sounds a bit iffy, but trust us, it works! We had the most excellent walks as well as drives to see Colobus monkeys and lions at a kill and... the list goes on. The walk through the WWI battlefield is well worth doing, even if you don't do any other.
It's unique and different even if you have been on safari before.
(Note: Some people who had visited said the game was very shy due to close proximity of hunting camps. I consider this to be a bit of a myth - I have never seen eland or giraffe in such numbers! No problems here.)" See all these reviews: 13n in Tanzania

"They thought of everything - even down to supplying washing powder. The food was first class - as good as any restaurant and the staff were all very friendly and helpful."

"Beho Beho is something special. The Bandas are just fantastic. The food and ranger enthusiasm was equally as amazing. From a realistic perspective because of the relatively remote location you don't bump into other vehicles which is a real positive, the downside is that during the evening drives the wildlife can be quite scarce so we tended to do afternoon walking safaris instead and drives in the morning. As this is the dry season there are stacks of elephant in the woods behind beho but for big cat lovers you have to go to Manze which is a fair drive away (worth it though to see the prides but it is a long bumpy drive out).
From a packing viewpoint they do a great job with your laundry. My world travelled trousers came back cleaner than I've seen them for years albeit took a bit longer than we thought.
Beho Beho do supply good quality shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/body lotion/mossie spray/hairdryer so you really do not need to load up too much weight on toiletries. Worth knowing as toiletries can take up a fair amount of weight even with travel sizes.

"Beho Beho was a luxurious safari camp.
The bandas had the most magnificent view. The front was completely open so the view was panoramic. The food at Beho Beho was gourmet cooking which would not be out of place in a top class London restaurant. The camp was run like a house party which we liked as it made the whole experience very friendly and I can imagine if you were traveliing on your own this would be good.
Karin and Walter were the managers. They were an amazing young couple. Walter was also a guide and Karin was the chef who was responsible for providing the amazing meals. Unlike Mwagusi we had a different guide everyday and there were 6 guides altogether. They were very professional and all had there specialities. They seemed to know the animals intimately particularly the various lion prides which made our drives even more interesting.
Apart from being woken up too early a couple of mornings with our morning tea I really can't fault this camp. It was expensive but we felt we got our moneys worth and it provided us with an unforgettable experience." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania

"This was the second year we visited Beho Beho and it was as good as ever.
Walter and Karen as usual were excellent hosts and now are ably assisted by Verne and Rika. It was good to see Mr Simba again and we can report Karen's cakes are still the best. We had two game drives a day each with a different guide, and saw a great variety of game and bird life. Godlisten took us down the Beho Beho sand river, navigating buffalo obstacles and gave us a good view of a leopard on a kill in a tree.
Walter took us on a lovely 'little Serengeti' route we had not been before and managed to find the well-hidden lion pride, and Heribut showed us yet another beautiful new drive. However Verne gave us a most memorable lion experience on our Tagalala day which we will long remember.
The facilities are lovely and my favourite is the water-hole view as we have pre-dinner drinks (buffalo, hippo, waterbuck and giraffe this year). The food is excellent, and the dining is communal which is a pleasant social event. We loved our room No 5, especially the gorgeous bathroom, and it was good exercise getting there after sitting in vehicles all day.
Its position allowed us to do game viewing even during the afternoon break, and gave us an exciting quandary one morning when setting out to go to the lodge, as to whether we should ignore the large bull elephant grazing close by." See all these reviews: 14n in Tanzania; 3n in Mozambique
