South Africa: reviews from our travellers
Unedited reviews written by our most recent travellers to South Africa
"Africa 2015"
Vic Falls - enjoyed it except for the builidng works at Ilala Lodge. Also whilst walking around Vic Falls you do get hassled by young men selling souvenirs which is a nuisance and put us off walking around the town. We were advised it used to much worse.
Camp Hwange - fantastic, so many memories.
Claire organised it so well, there were no problems. Cars always turned up on time. Check-in at hotels efficient.
Overall, we loved the trip and choice of accommodation." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 7 on a Zimbabwe safari

I look forward to coming back, and would not hesitate to use Expert Africa again." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 4 on a South Africa trip
"My Apr 2015 trip"
The organisational skills and expertise of Expert Africa who also gave sound advice on choice of safari lodges, allowed this to be a pleasurable and stress-free experience.

Carry on ! I wonder if there is any scope to encourage lodges to construct hides. Spending time waiting to see what comes by a waterhole say would be good for photographers and others on occasion." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 8 on a Botswana safari
"very much enjoyed"
We found the people friendly and helpful. The exchange rate is also ,very attractive.
We feel that this was one of our best holidays ever and we would love to go back.
Thanks Claire for organising it so well.

In your brochure or when the clients itinerary is made up you may like to consider suggesting things to do /see at the suggested stopovers or on the way. e.g. Bartholomew Dias at Mossel bay, Drodsty Museum at Swallenburg etc." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 17 on a South Africa trip

"One Meerkat Safari !"
Although the wildlife in the Kgalagadi was, to say the least , sparse we had a superb time. The accommodation was far better than anticipated. Very comfortable beds, good showers and more than adequate cooking facilities . The addition of a fridge in our vehicle would have made the whole experience perfect.
The driving was occasionally a little challenging and perhaps not for the faint hearted but Kgalagadi should be on the wish list for all those who love Africa and want a bit of an adventure.
Our experience with B.A. was unfortunate especially as they are one of the few airlines that go to the destinations of our choice.but that is out if the control of E.A.
We look forward to our next trips organised by E.A. - we have 2 in the pipeline!!!" Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 12 on a South Africa trip
"Excellent advice and support."
Nothing was too much trouble and our queries were always answered promptly.
Altogether a great experience and we will definitely be returning, both to Africa and to 'Expert'!" Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 8 on a South Africa trip
"My Jan 2015 trip"
One point on timing, although the road from Upington to Twee Rivieren is tarred for the whole route, sticking to the speed limits it still takes about 2.75 hours to drive.
Visits to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park nowadays are now notably more regimented than in our earlier visit in the 1980s. However we had the impression that the organisation there was pretty good.
There were no good maps of the Transfrontier Park available in the area of the park. The only map provided in the park was a black and white A4 photocopy. The best map available to us was the coloured photocopy provided in Expert Africa's documentation.
When we left Jo'burg International airport on 31 January for our trip back to UK we were given particular warning at the check-in desk that from 1 February the airport would be being much more rigorous about baggage limits etc. We don't know whether or not this is an issue to watch." "We loved it"
We enjoyed the different character of the lodges, this was our second time with Expert Africa in South Africa and you have taken us to Namibia as well
For us the treats were Bushmans Kloof and Kwandwe and we love Cape Town. We were happier in town than out at Camps Bay.
We'd lile a CapeTown/Kwandwe/somewhere else holiday next time - I was looking at your brochure in secret today!
so Thank You Tracy and all the staff in South Africa (apart from the misery at De Hoop) We had a fantastic time
