"An excellent experience, with nothing negative to say.

The villa had everything we needed, including wonderful views from the balcony, the food was generally of a good standard and the game drives and guiding were excellent.

Linda got a nasty dose of food poisoning in Plettenberg, which developed rapidly during the journey from there to Kariega, to the extent that she was too unwell to go on the first two game drives of our stay. The staff were as helpful as possible, phoning a doctor who she was able to speak to and, subsequently, providing her with whatever food she felt able to consume. When she was able to go on the drives, the following day - the first time for her - she was bowled over by what we saw and the whole experience.

Everything was done to a high standard, with excellent guiding from Megan, so that our stay was memorable, particularly when Linda felt better. I have previously stayed in several lodges, in Tanzania, Namibia and Kruger, and I am happy to recommend Kariega, despite the fact that the wildlife viewing is, inevitably, more limited than some other places.
