Augrabies Falls National Park

It is called ‘Place of Great Noise’ which fits the park well if the river is in full flood.

"A magical, almost spiritual experience"

I visited South Africa between 28 May 2010 and 6 Jun 2010
"We have done numerous safaris but this was different. We were not expecting vast quantities of game but we were pleasantly surprised by the number of animals we saw, which included 7 cheetah and 2 male black-maned lions. The game viewing was probably not helped by the volume of rain which had recently fallen, resulting in long, fresh and sometimes green grass.

We found ourselves appreciating the smaller, less significant animals more than we would normally; for instance the mongooses, squirrels and even mice. Finding meerkats is definitely not 'simples'! But we succeeded. Bird life was surprisingly profuse, with a good variety of raptors.

The park infrastructure was excellent. The tracks were sandy, well maintained and the main ones easily negotiable by 2wd, right up to Union End. Petrol is available at Mata Mata and Nossob, but beware that the shops here were not well stocked compared with Twee Rivieren.

Difficult to see how the Expert Africa team could have done a better job! Excellent as always............" Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 7 on a South Africa trip

I visited South Africa between 25 Nov 2009 and 12 Dec 2009
"For the limited time available to us and for the time of year being very hot this short itinerary worked out very well.

There were some good things; the Xlaus camp, the drive from Upington to Augrabies. le Must guest house. Some poor things; Augrabies Rest camp and the size of the car in Cape Town and some average things; South Africa airlines." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 5 on a South Africa trip

"Wonderful"

I visited Namibia and 1 other country between 25 Jul 2009 and 2 Sep 2009
"I think the individual feedback says it all - we were enchanted with our accommodation, captivated by the people, intoxicated by the countryside, the flora and the fauna, not to mention the sea life.

The planning was perfect - we had been closely advised by Expert Africa and found the timings to be spot on - no stay in one place was too short, no stay too long. We were priviledged to have 40 days and the luxury of being able to enjoy two countries, we felt, at our leisure." Read full review: 39 nights in Africa; 24 on a Namibia trip

I visited South Africa between 5 Feb 2009 and 9 Mar 2009
"Whole trip. Very well organised and on the whole super accommodation. All went without a hitch and the Kalahari well worth a visit.

We had some rain whilst there which made some driving difficult and we were glad we had the 4x4 although probably not necessary if dry. Would certainly go back there, probably at a different time of year to see the contrast.

Thanks for organising it all at short notice.

A couple of places we stayed on our own and we can recommend them maybe for futures use. Oystercatcher Lodge at Shelley Point St Helena Bay WC. Superb location and lovely rooms.
La Boheme B& B Plettenberg Bay. Again lovely rooms and great host." Read full review: 32 nights in Africa; 10 on a South Africa trip

I visited South Africa and 1 other country between 15 Oct 2008 and 12 Nov 2008
"First of all we must say thankyou for such an excellent holiday. We had a wonderful time and Namibia in particular was everything we hoped and expected for our second visit to the country. Throughout the accommodation was excellent and the food made a considerable impression at many of the places we stayed - we have the extra pounds to prove it!

In short a very ejoyable and successful holiday with lots of highlights, too many to mention, although the Baboons at Augrabies Falls and the three days of Whale watching at Hermanus will be remembered for a very long time. Oceans Eleven at Hermanus and Camps Bay Retreat were very good recommendatins so thanks Tracy for all your good ideas and helpfulness.

It was a super holiday and getting back to reality is proving very hard We are already working on the next trip to Nambia. What more can we say!" Read full review: 28 nights in Africa; 14 on a South Africa trip

"Wonderful Southern African Trip"

I visited South Africa and 1 other country between 1 Oct 2008 and 7 Nov 2008
"We were impressed by the luxury of the accommodation throughout - perhaps 'good' given to some establishments on this feedback only because some others were particularly 'excellent'.

The variety of scenery and the distances travelled between stops was well thought out and we'd enjoyed the liaison to work the itinerary out before the trip.

It was very special for us and Completely lived up to expectations.
Huge thank you." Read full review: 37 nights in Africa; 12 on a South Africa trip
