"Epupa Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 29 May 2022
"We had wanted to stay in the region of Kunene River Lodge but ended up with 3 nights here - too much, we should have stuck to our guns!

Good guided walk upriver and good sundowner overlooking the falls. Nice location. Accommodation and food was OK but no plugs in rooms so had to charge devices on outside table.

Internet very patchy and slightly surly staff. Didn't even see the cinderella waxwing - or whatever it was we were looking for!" See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia

"Such a nice place"

2 nights Arrived 6 Aug 2019
"We stayed at the nice Epupa Camp approx. 700 meters above the waterfalls. This place is highly recommended. The staff were very kind. The lodge had a spectacular location next to Kunene River, and there was a nice little pool. Dinner and breakfast were perfect. We tried to stay in both the safari tents and in the cottage, both worked fine. OK internet and charging station by the reception. Cars were washed on parking place (convenient given all the dust). Family friendly river rafting (not very difficult at all)" See all these reviews: 21n in Namibia; 2n in Botswana; 2n in Zambia

"Camped beside a torrent!"

2 nights Arrived 22 Jan 2016
"The well appointed wooden framed tented accommodation (with the usual ensuite facilities) are lined up along the bank of the Kunene River, which when we were there was in full flood, a raging torrent after heavy rains in Angola. We could hear the constant rush of flowing water which in some ways was pleasing but prompted us to check if the level was still coming up - we were only about 2m above the river level!

We worried about mosquitoes with so much water nearby but in fact there were hardly any insects and this was no problem. The falls are spectacular - the Lodge arranged excellent visits both to the best viewing point and also a very interesting and sensitively organised trip to a Himba village - our driver and tour guide was excellent (and being Himba himself could tell us a lot).

The food was exceptionally good but the son of the manager was temporarily in residence and he is a professional chef who has worked internationally including in London!" See all these reviews: 19n in Namibia; 10n in Rwanda; 1n in Kenya; 1n in South Africa
