Namibia: reviews from our travellers
Unedited reviews written by our most recent Namibia travellers
"Our Botswana Safari (June 2024)"
Despite us leaving the decision until almost too late (September 2023 for a June 2024 trip), Lucy Copson managed to arrange a wonderful range of camps in the Okavango for us. She managed to book the last available accommodation at the camps despite recovering from a major operation, for which we are immensely grateful.
Lucy has been unfailingly helpful and effective in arranging and communicating with us, despite her illness in the leadup to this 2024 trip. She was equally helpful and effective during the rapidly-changing Covid requirements in the planning and leadup to the 2022 trip.
Our travel documents arrived on time, both times, and had a lot of reassuring details about managing health, travel and other possible difficulties while on safari. We have never needed them, but were very glad to have the details and know that backup plans were in place.
The Expert Africa website is an excellent resource, especially for those of us who like to read about where we are going in great detail. The toll-free number has been a great resource for urgent questions when email is inadequate.
We would recommend Expert Africa and Lucy Copson without hesitation to our friends, and are dreaming already of another safari somewhere in Africa!" Read full review: 22 nights in Africa; 12 on a Botswana safari

"My Jun 2024 trip"
The country is beautiful and wildlife plentiful even though very arid.
It is safe to drive around and on the whole very friendly.
It was excellent.
Having the lounge in the airport was very beneficial both at the start and the end of the trip." Read full review: 20 nights in Africa; 20 on a Namibia trip
"Fantastic June 2024 Namibia Self Drive Trip"
3 nights Sossusvlei area, 2 nights Swakopmund, 2 nights Spitzkoppen, 3 nights Doro Nawas & Twyfelfontein area, 2 nights Okonjima, 4 nights Andersson's at Ongava & Etosha NP, 4 nights at the Mundulea Nature Reserve and one night at Windhoek at the end. Moving from the desert & the coast, the stunning mountain & dune landscapes to more & more wildlife sceneries.
The choice to tour Namibia clockwise self-driving was a good decision in retrospect. Starting at Windhoek and driving off immediately after landing early morning to the Sossusvlei area was a long exhausting drive, but the right choice to save a day, made easier from the start with the kind support of Expert Africa's partner in country Wilderness Safaris (nice relaxing lounge & office in the airport building, support for picking up the car, support for money exchange).
Redoing the trip, we would perhaps plan for 4 full weeks instead of 3 weeks, adding a night in Windhoek at the start of the trip, 3 nights at Okonjima in lieu of 2 nights, and take a flight back & forth from Doro Nawas (leaving the car there) to spend 2 or 3 nights at the Skeleton Coast NP in addition.
A fantastic trip & memories for the whole family." Read full review: 23 nights in Africa; 21 on a Namibia trip

We really felt that we were listened too very carefully in the planning process.
I even got to see a pangolin which was top of my wish list.
We would highly recommend Expert Africa. Thank you Maruska!

"My May 2024 trip"
The itinerary and route worked out perfectly for 14 nights in the country. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming.
We weren’t expecting to see wildlife in such great numbers and to see so many baby animals was a great bonus.
Some of the road surfaces were quite challenging on the C and D roads, as were the roads to the waterholes in Etosha, but we did feel secure in our 4x4 and drove fairly cautiously, fortunately avoiding a puncture!
Chris McIntyre’s book was invaluable, particularly about the waterholes in Etosha, as well as the detailed travel documents and map. So much information on the website too, though some things need updating. For example, in Okaukuejo they no longer do a room inventory. Also, park entrance is now N$ 350 per 24hours for 2 persons plus vehicle." Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip

The diverse landscapes, varied accommodations, intermittent sightings of wildlife, even the experience of two punctures and the help we received….it was all wonderful.
