"Pemba Beach Hotel review"
2 nights Arrived 22 May 2009
"How to comment such a place: a big hotel almost empty, full of potential and possible high rank activities which is spoilt by an appaling management. Some examples: we had to fight to get the right bill since the reception was fiddling around with the exchange rates trying to make us pay 8% more of what we had really consumed; the dive center made me pay for an average dive the same price that you would pay in the best diving center in the Seychelles; tuna fish cooked as if it were stone fish, waiting time for the transfer to the airport of 1 hour after three telephone calls and a lot of bargaining...."

Feedback Response
The Pemba Beach Hotel have replied saying that they are always concerned to receive any sort of negative feedback and are taking this matter very seriously. We have been informed that both the Managing Director and General Manager will be taking steps to remedy all the points mentioned.

"A one night stop-over"
1 night Arrived 6 Sep 2007
"We'd had a pretty stressful day by the time we arrived late at Pemba Beach. We'd almost missed our flight after being told it was full, and when we finally arrived in Pemba, our luggage was still in Dar, so we weren't in the best of moods!
The hotel seemed fine though really we were only there for 12 hours, so probably not the best judges. Not many of the staff spoke english which proved tricky at first when trying to speak to someone about our luggage.
The room was clean and the view was beautiful from the balcony. The food wasn't amazing but it was perfectly fine." See all these reviews: 9n in Mozambique; 7n in Tanzania

"Potentially a very nice hotel, but it appears to be very poorly managed and the staff pooorly trained."
