Mvuu Camp in the Liwonde National Park,
built with views over the Shire River
that can be seen from the comfort of the lounge area.
There is a large dinning area for guests
with a couple of smaller tables for children to play and eat.
There is also a kids playground within the property.
The bandas are spacious
fitted with either a double or twin beds
as well as an en suite with a walk in shower.
There are signs around the camp warning the guests of potential visitors...
namely cheeky but entertaining vervet monkeys.
The camp holds 'Boma' nights with traditional dancing, drumming and food..
as well as market days to show case local crafts.
In the dry season, game drives typically see good general game and elephant sightings.
The last hour of drive is at night, with a chance to spot nocturnal creatures like this genet.
Migrant birds arrive with the rains, like the Woodland Kingfisher making it a great time for birding

Kuthengo Camp

Kuthengo Camp

Kuthengo Camp is a small, relatively new bushcamp on a bend of the Shire River, under shady fever trees and baobabs. It's a quality operation run by a professional team with a good track record, so is already a reliably good option in Liwonde.
