"Kulalu Camp review"

3 nights Arrived 6 Sep 2023
"A dream location. Very comfortable tents overlooking the perennial Galana River. Game on the opposite bank, birds all over.

Bush was outstanding as our host, and all of the staff went out of their way to make us welcome and to look after us. This small camp gave a beautiful sense of "away from it all" and being in the bush.

Food was very good, wholesome and presented with aplomb. Game drives were thorough - it was super-dry and so animals were dispersed but nevertheless we got to see lions, elephants, buffalo and numerous antelope. - well done Shadrack, our guide.

Galana Conservancy is a big place and I'd love to see it again to get to know it better." See all these reviews: 9n in Kenya

"Kulalu Camp review"

6 nights Arrived 23 Jan 2023
"I'm always made to feel very welcome at Kulalu where Tina and her staff run a friendly and efficient camp where you can't help feeling at home. Fantastic location on the banks of the Galana River. Great hospitality as always, headed up by Bush.
James and Shadrach make a brilliant guiding/driving combination. Very entertaining elephants and wonderful birdlife with lots of raptor action!
I look forward to another repeat visit next year." See all these reviews: 12n in Kenya

"Authentic safari feel at Kulalu camp"

3 nights Arrived 5 Feb 2019
"Kulalu is a special place. Just a few comfortable tents above the banks of the mighty Galana River where herds of elephants and buffalo come to drink. Great wildlife viewing from your tent or from the bar /dining area. Wilder than the other places on our itinerary as we expected it would be but just as hospitable. Excellent staff led by Bush and great food from the kitchen. Hot bucket showers provided by Jeff whenever needed. Nothing is too much trouble and the comfort of guests is assured.

Game drives produced some great sightings of birds and mammals but never another vehicle! As it's beside the Galana Conservancy, night drives are possible and you can walk from camp under the expert guidance of Shedrack. Tsavo East is very accessible too but we didn't feel any need to return to the National Park.

Certainly the most remote camp we stayed at but no less comfortable. I look forward to return visits." See all these reviews: 13n in Kenya

"You can do more here"

3 nights Arrived 4 Jun 2017
"Classic permanent tent camp. Hot water requires advance coordination, and electrical plugs in the tents are fewer than some camps, but you can always charge something at the bar. The food is great, and because you are outside the park, you can do night game drives or walk around more during the day. This makes snake and scorpion hunting more possible -- and I did both of those here. This is right on the river, so you have hippo in your front yard." See all these reviews: 12n in Kenya
