Galdessa: video gallery

Galdessa: picture gallery

Galdessa is beautifully located on the south bank of the Galana River in Tsavo East National Park.
The lodge is located in a remote corner of the park where the river flows around the Yatta Plateaui.
The lounge/dining area is right above the river, and hippos often come ashore at night to graze…
…as do elephants (in their case to roam around camp on the look out for tasty leftovers).
You'll be escorted when walking around the camp at all times, but most quests are happy to chill…
…in the shady lounge and dining area during the hot hours of the day…
…or lounge on their private verandas.
The rooms at Galdessa are gorgeously conceived creations of canvas, mosquito net, wood, palm thatch…
…and white cotton. They always feel cool. This is one of three rooms called 'Private Galdessa'…
… one double …
…and two twins, that are grouped together just a stone's throw downstream from the rest of the camp.
The bathroom in the double is very large (though the shower is traditional 'bucket'-style)…
…with filtered drinking water and hot washing water available at all times.
'Private Galdessa' shares a private dining area and lounge – perfect for large families or group
The double at the end makes an ideal honeymoon suite, and has a peaceful upper viewing deck.
The standard rooms, like all the accommodation at Galdessa, have uninterrupted views of the river…
…and are very well set-up, with high roofs of palm thatch tiles to keep them cool during the day.
The main bedroom areas have good-sized beds and electric sockets.
The bathrooms are spacious and well furnished…
…though none of the showers at Galdessa are open-air.
