"Friendly and charming lodge in the panhandle"

3 nights Arrived 9 Aug 2016
"Nxamseri is a wonderful lodge in a beautiful, peaceful location.

The accommodation is comfortable and the staff are helpful and friendly.

We had a fantastic three days including a visit to the Tsodilo Hills with their ancient San art (worth the journey despite the terrible roads), fishing on the Okavango river (with mixed success) and a trip for some of us in genuine wood Mokoro canoes." "Nxamaseri was brilliant"

3 nights Arrived 13 Jul 2016
"Arriving at the beautiful lodge through acres of water lilies to a warm reception from Tiaan and Geraldine set the tone for our stay.

Our room was large and comfortable with netting walls (no hot water tap at the basin but a large pot of hot water delivered on request).

Our guide Fish was exceptional, in tune with his environment and sensitive to our interests. Our boat and mokoro trips were enjoyable and informative. A picnic boat trip to the "Red Cliff" to see the nesting swallows was highlight as was brief period fishing for tiger.

Meals at the single dining table were enjoyable occasions with a good variety of well cooked meals produced by Tiny the cook." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana

"Beautiful peaceful setting, lovely"

2 nights Arrived 3 Jul 2016
"Wonderful setting only accessible by boat, rooms hidden away in the forest at river's edge and very secluded, very friendly staff, we were the only guests and Tian ate with us, joined in star gazing etc. Very comfortable communal area although we didn't seem to have much time to sit in it!

Lovely river safaris by boat and mokoro, many birds, hippos etc.

Hippos pretty noisy at night!

Would love to return. Stayed 2 days but so relaxing could have stayed an extra night." See all these reviews: 11n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Super, secluded setting."

2 nights Arrived 2 Jun 2016
"This is a wonderfully secluded lodge in the heart of the Okavango Panhandle (a proper Okavango experience but without the high expense of flying into the delta).

We were given a warm, friendly welcome by everyone. The facilities and service were 'top notch' - apart from a slight problem with the tepid showers.

The manager and guides were very knowledgeable but very accessible. Our stay lacked for nothing.

We would highly recommend this to others." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Definitely a highlight in every respect."

2 nights Arrived 2 Jun 2016
"We all loved Nxamaseri where we were treated like royalty by Christiane and Geraldine. Our guides Adam and Fish also deserve a special mention. Being the only guests there did help, but at Nxamaseri they went out of their way to make the experience very special.

The accommodation was comfortable and fun, being open to the bush and water and accessed by boardwalk. It felt exotic. Our bar tab was generously picked up by the Lodge in recognition of the support over the years from Expert Africa's Maruska and Saskia. The water based activities were wonderful mokoro and fishing trips through a bird rich environment. The isolation of the Lodge on an island adds to the magic and feeling of having left the world behind.

Food was good. It was the only place we all felt we could have easily spent longer." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana; 2n in Zimbabwe

"Home from home at Nxamaseri Lodge"

2 nights Arrived 2 Jun 2016
"What a beautiful place! It really is so remote and peaceful. From our jeep and boat transfer to the lodge, we were constantly delighted. As the only guests at the Lodge, we were spoiled. It was certainly the best stay of our trip by a long way!

Absolutely wonderful staff - everyone we met was like a close friend! We had some excellent chats with Geraldine and Tiaan over dinner/drinks and Adam and Fish were excellent guides!

The food was hearty and tasty - loved the fresh bread. The inclusive drinks was a real treat - thank you! The rooms were quirky - we had an open air room which meant we could hear the hippos at night. This was surprisingly relaxing! Even though the temperature dropped at night, the bed was very warm and we were provided hot water bottles. Our only minor issue was a faulty water heater for our shower but Tiaan was determined to resolve the problem for us.

The activities were all a lot of fun - from the Mokoro trip to our multiple fishing/sundowner boat trips - we lived getting out on the water and learned a lot about the water bird life. Car parking at the village worked very well. Glad to help the locals in return for safe keeping of our van." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia; 4n in Botswana

"Moved to another lodge due to fire"

2 nights Arrived 30 Oct 2015
"The papyrus was burning in numerous places when we arrived and only the night before the Lodge had only been saved by damping down the roofs. The owners offered us another lodge north which we accepted as it would have been foolish to refuse,

Eve and Small took us by boat to the alternative lodge and were our hosts and guides for our two nights. They even arranged for our car to be moved.

What can we say about Eve and Small that would reflect the care and attention given to the two of us. Yes we were their only charges for our stay and I hope they enjoyed the boat safaris as much as we did. We left feeling pampered and privileged." "Brilliant guiding by 'Fish'"

2 nights Arrived 30 Sep 2015
"We weren't sure what we were going to do at this fairly simple river camp, as we don't fish, but were gently persuaded out of our comfort zone and ended up trying everything! 'Fish', who seemed to know every inch of the area, told us a lot about the traditional way of life and showed us round the island where he grew up.

Gliding along in the dugout' canoe, it was so peaceful we felt as though we were the only people on the river. We spotted huge numbers of birds and many hippos and even tried fishing....

Back at the lodge, Eve made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed: excellent food, eaten family style, though we could have happily lived on the various home-made breads." See all these reviews: 15n in Namibia; 5n in Zimbabwe; 4n in Botswana

"Amazing birds and great company"

2 nights Arrived 6 Jun 2015
"A great place to stay-rooms are excellent and the guiding was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide.

Sitting round the fire at night, meeting some guys who were canoeing the length of the Okavango from the highlands of Angola to the Delta unforgetable-just an amazing place to stay." See all these reviews: 13n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana
