"A fantastic holiday experience only marred slightly by abysmal international flights with British Airways which is not Expert Africa's fault in any way.
Very, very pleased with Tracy Lederer (and Lucy Copson who stood in for her when Tracy was away).

"Our July 2022 trip to four camps in Botswana"

"Maruska was excellent to work with!
The four camps we visited were all very good.
Although our wildlife viewing at Splash was excellent, we would probably not return due to the very rough roads in deep sand.
We developed a preference for small camps (e.g., not more than six tents or units).

The four camps we visited were all very good.

"Botswana 2022"
I visited Botswana between 12 Jul 2022 and 27 Jul 2022
"The trip was focused on trying to see and photograph Wild Dogs with a Kalahari extension for Meerkats bolted on. Despite a hiccup with our luggage thanks to BA and some issues with dog dens sadly being in conflict with lions, the trip delivered all that we had hoped for and a few surprises. We added 7 lifer sightings to our list which is always great!
The Kalahari was the real surprise in terms of experience and sightings, and certainly encourages us to go back again in green season.
We chose the Kwando camps in and around the Delta based on reputation with Wild Dogs and the ability to off road in private concessions, and two out of the three camps were excellent. It is always high risk to have a pretty single minded goal on a trip but it finally paid off and we got some great other sightings / encounters along the way. Having the trackers on the vehicles was essential as good old fashioned detective work is critical to sightings - the landscape can be pretty challenging at this time of year between green and dry. Our stay at Kwara Camp has set a standard for safari accommodation that will never be beaten!

"This trip exceeded expectations. The wildlife was fantastic and the lodging was comfortable and luxurious. Everything ran so smoothly. Maruska did a wonderful job picking a variety of camps for us where we had different experienced and saw the animals we were interested in. We had incredible sightings and a great time. I don't know what could have made it better."

Time taken by the guides to explain everything to the children was superb especially in the last 2 camps- they loved it.
Looking forward to taking grandchild number4 in 3years time if we don’t go back beforehand

"This was a successful holiday that delivered some great experiences. All the arrangements for travelling and being met worked well.
The quality of the food and drink was excellent.
Wildlife is about birds as well as big cats - and there are many to be seen.

"Maruska worked with us on this trip and really tailored it to our interests. We got to see more animals than we ever expected and up very close. The level of service from staff and the quality of lodging and dining were as she described.
In addition, due to her vigilance, we were able to rescue the trip from disaster when British Airways suddenly cancelled our flight to Zimbabwe with a 2 week notice. She had prepared us for this so we had a back up plan. Also, she gave us very good COVID traveling advice which we followed to the letter and things went very smoothly with all border transitions.
Overall, the trip was a much needed break from the stress of the last 2 years. Out in the safari car with the wind in our faces, looking for animals was mentally, spiritually and physically rejuvenating. This was truly the trip of a lifetime.

"My June 2022 trip"

"This is our second time travelling with Expert Africa and we were once again very happy with our experience. This is especially considering the many times we had to re-book due to Covid! EA worked hard to make sure we still got the experience we wanted and we are massively appreciative of that.
Megan gave excellent advice on where we should stay and was very patient with my many questions and changes of mind during planning. I always love that with EA you get one person who sticks with you from the first enquiry until you're safely home (In this case extra impressive when my first email exchange with Megan about this trip was Nov 2018!!).
I also appreciate that, unlike many travel agents, EA will happily communicate predominantly by email. This just suits me so much better around work and gives me a record of all the information for discussion with the rest of the group. The superbly detailed and easy to read information on the website is also a big plus.
Additional thanks to Chris, who responded personally when I had concerns about re-booking during Covid. It's also a lovely touch to get your guide book with a booking. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it was our only reading material for most of the trip so it's been read cover-to-cover and we're looking forward to a sequel!

We also want to commend Lucy Copson for her assistance at the time of deferral (we had arrived in Cape Town just as all the borders closed), and then all her willing and cheerful help subsequently in rescheduling, and replying to many questions about details post-Covid.
