I visited Namibia between 4 Oct 2008 and 21 Oct 2008
"Our second triip to Namibia and all went well. We are in our late 60s and were a bit concerned about going up to the Caprivi but roads are excellent and nothing to worry us - though if we were to go again I think we would choose a cooler time of year (if there is one) and/or confine ourselves to accommodation with air conditioning.

Two warnings

1. Petrol is evidently a problem beyond Rundu. There was none at Kongola and only 93 octane at Divundu when we needed to fill up for our return journey

2. As we drove from Windhoek to the airport for our return flight a car overtook us and shouted out that we had a flat tyre. I thought the car was driving normally and carried on to the airport parking where our tyres seemed perfectly OK, so I think this was an attempted confidence trick. Unfortunately I failed to get the registration number." Read full review: 17 nights in Africa; 16 on a Namibia trip

I visited Tanzania between 4 Oct 2008 and 19 Oct 2008
"Generally we enjoyed our trip to Tanzania but missed the early starts that we had enjoyed in Zambia.

The guiding was variable in quality with Beho Beho being excellent and Lake Manze pretty dire. Ras Kutani was pretty and very relaxing and Mwagusi pretty good." Read full review: 15 nights in Africa; 11 on a Tanzania safari

"A most memorable experience"

I visited Namibia between 3 Oct 2008 and 24 Oct 2008
"This trip more that met with my expectations. I had imagined sitting in the tented accommodation looking out on the wilderness but the reality of actually doing just that was just wonderful.

Each location was small enough to feel the isolation and give us the freedom. We were able to feel the vastness and stillness of it all. All the accommodation was of a very high standard and comfortable but still gave us the feeling of being out in the wild.

It is a wonderful country with wonderful people and we were encouraged by the amount of conservation taking place and the help given to orphaned and under priviledged children in the Wilderness Safari camps." Read full review: 21 nights in Africa; 17 on a Namibia trip

"Amazing bang for your bucks!"

I visited Zambia between 3 Oct 2008 and 16 Oct 2008
"I have run out of ways of saying excellent............we cried all the way home on British Airways flight.

Suggestions for improvement:

I hope that Tafika's recipe of giving the best, not spoiling the dish by overloading the camps, and charging a price that gives them the return they want is the right one for the future.

A costly holiday no doubt; but cheap at the price !" Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 11 on a Zambia safari

"Happy campers!"

I visited Tanzania between 2 Oct 2008 and 16 Oct 2008
"Worth every penny! All expectations met (maybe a little more than we bargained for with the the tsetse flies!) Having travelled to Africa with a small number fo travel companies over the past 20 years, Expert Africa come top of the list, and we will certainly look to you to again for future trips.

Your help in easing the blow of the lost wallet is very much appreciated as this could easily have dampened what has has been a truly excellent trip, many thanks.

As an aside it may be worth noting that if people's expectations are for smooth roads and Michelin star catering then perhaps the middle of Africa is not for them! Considering the locations and the tools available overall the camps manage extremely well.

Suggestions for improvement:

Nothing to add!" Read full review: 14 nights in Africa; 13 on a Tanzania safari

"We had an excellent holiday, enjoyed our first visit to Tanzania very much indeed and we shall consider going back next year.
It was very interesting going from Dar to Ras Katani by mini bus especially waiting for the overloaded ferry at the fish market!

We noticed a much more relaxed attitude to clothing at the camps compared with the more strict neutral colour requirements in Zambia when on activities.

Suggestions for improvement:

Sorry no, because we have enjoyed all our trips with you immensely." Read full review: 12 nights in Africa; 9 on a Tanzania safari

"A marvellous safari"

I visited Zambia between 1 Oct 2008 and 16 Oct 2008
"The trip as a whole was excellent, very enjoyable, and very fruitful as regards animal sightings, and vegetation and general environment explanations. We would highly recommend such a trip, and we would highly recommend Robin Pope Safaris, which we hope keeps its efficient but homespun individual character.

We went at the end of the season in spite of the heat, expecting good game viewings, but found the heat at night a problem and made much use of kikois. For the first time we all got gut problems, and found we were not alone in this, but cannot put the cause down to any one thing - heat, dehydration or food. However, only one of us had to miss one game drive, and staff were solicitous, so ailments were an inconvenience, rather than a major problem." "Wonderful Southern African Trip"

I visited South Africa and 1 other country between 1 Oct 2008 and 7 Nov 2008
"We were impressed by the luxury of the accommodation throughout - perhaps 'good' given to some establishments on this feedback only because some others were particularly 'excellent'.

The variety of scenery and the distances travelled between stops was well thought out and we'd enjoyed the liaison to work the itinerary out before the trip.

It was very special for us and Completely lived up to expectations.
Huge thank you." Read full review: 37 nights in Africa; 12 on a South Africa trip
