"We have had many family holidays but this was one of the best.
Tom at Africa Expert was brilliant at helping me put together our itinerary - and making suggesting on things to do and see and at finding the best lodges for our budget - and they were all great.
There is such a variety of things to do and see in Namibia - and self driving gives you so much flexibility. (Tom had even given us a map which had the route highlighted in felt pen so we couldn't get lost!)
Our highlights were: the sand dunes at Sossusvlei, the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, Ongava Lodge and Etosha National Park.
If you are going at peak season it is worth thinking of booking certain activities in advance. We wanted to go kayaking with seals in Swakopmund but we tried 5 different companies and all were fully booked.

"Except for the very bad experience with Bidvest Car Hire (hired through Expert Africa), once again, we had very good experiences using Expert Africa for assisting with planning and booking the trip. We got highly qualified, fast and efficient help from Tracy Lederer from Expert Africa putting together a good trip to this part of Africa, where we have traveled may times, although were were late out booking.

"A long trip, which cover. Overall key to success was our driver/guide Felix. An excellent spotter with terrific knowledge of the parks. We were very lucky to be with Felix for 10 days.
We thought all our lodges and camps were fine. Tarangire Safari Lodge was our overall favorite with great location and comfortable basic room. Nomad Serengeti Camp was the best camp, but also quite expensive. You do get great service for the money.
Animals and a sense of central Africa are why we went. Our hopes were well met. Every day was a new adventure.
There were no logistical problems, everything happened as planned. We simply had to be ready to get up and going early every day to see as much as we could.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service: One suggestion about dinners. Only Nomad Serengeti Camp offered a communal dining table for dinner. We would have like that option at every camp. Our fellow travelers seemed to be a folks we would have like to get to know a bit better." "My wife and I loved every minute of our honeymoon. It could not have been better.

Jessica Plumb listened to what we were after - I preferred more rustic places away from the crowds but close to the wildlife and my wife wanted certain comforts (eg flushing toilets!) - and the camps delivered this perfectly. We both loved it. The order that we did the trip as well was perfect as each camp got better and better along the way as we gradually went more and more remote." "Overall our trip was amazing. I had a good idea of the route that we wanted to follow and Sabina did a great job of juggling the lodge bookings, getting the car organised etc.

A couple of comments that hopefully help future guests:

- The distances are far and we felt that 2 nights max at any particular spot was not really enough. We wish we had stayed 3 nights at Hoodia and Onguma, both of which were fantastic.

- Bullsport was awful - see my review. We should have gone straight to Hoodia.

- Didn't like Etosha Safari Camp. I had really wanted to stay at Okakeujo but was told it was full. Was all accomodation really full there? Could more have been done to get a spot there?" Read full review: 18 nights in Africa; 14 on a Namibia trip

"Our trip was amazing. We had such a great time. The safari experience was incredible, better than we could have ever expected. It was so fabulous to be in such remote areas, totally looked after at the camps - which was so relaxing and such a luxury - and then to have such thrilling experiences out on the drives. And to have lovely interactions with the staff at our camps and to learn about their customs, their families, their lives. Plus it was a great way for our family to spend time together and for us all to have a good time.

We also enjoyed our visits to Cape Town and Jo'Burg. We had private guides for a day in both towns, which we like to do wherever we travel - and our guides really gave us tremendous insight into the history and lives of people in these towns and throughout South Africa." "I was absolutely delighted with the trip. The Expert Africa folks were all great to work with. if one person happened to be out of the office, someone else would respond. We never had to wait long for a reply through the planning process and all 'connections" and hand-offs in were seamless. You guys are true professionals.

The contractors you provided us with in Rwanda and Tanzania were equally well beyond satisfactory. I hope to go back someday. I hope you offer a discount for repeat customers as i would like to bring family members :)

"Zambia and the South Luangwa exceeded our expectations. This has been our favourite family holiday (agreed by all 4 of us!)

The two camps we stayed in, Lion Camp, and Chinzombo, were both fantastic.

We enjoyed the remoteness of Lion Camp and the scenery in that area of the park. It was nice to stay in two different locations within the South Luangwa.
