"Sunshine Hotel review"

10 nights Arrived 5 Feb 2023
"Hotel was in general good though a little isolated , a few minor problems were sorted but shouldn’t have been a problem anyway (ie faulty light bulbs) food could have been better (more choice) beach was lovely , very quiet which suited us.

Staff were really good." See all these reviews: 10n in Zanzibar; 4n in Kenya

"Good hotel"

3 nights Arrived 19 Jan 2015
"Very attractive hotel set on beautiful long undeveloped beach on east coast.

Rooms very comfortable and although no a/c no problem sleeping as well designed to benefit from trade winds. No problem with the so called brackish water. Breakfast could have been better - running out of bananas and mango on Zanzibar seems bizarre! Didn't eat there in the evening so can't comment on food but reports not great.

But design of hotel and setting lovely." See all these reviews: 8n in Zanzibar; 4n in Tanzania

"Great escape from the bustle of stone town"

3 nights Arrived 30 Nov 2013
"It's a good hotel run by extremely friendly people.

We had a minor problem with a leaking toilet but this was fixed promptly...also the water was off for a while owing to a glitch but this didn't adversely effect our stay. A great place to chill." See all these reviews: 5n in Tanzania; 3n in Zanzibar

"Improvements could be made"

3 nights Arrived 4 Jul 2013
"It was quickly apparent that there were issues between staff and management which mean staff were note particularly happy or friendly, although there were some exceptions. The other negative was that we were woken every morning by the early morning prayer call which we were not expecting.

The rooms were very comfortable and cool. The food was also nice and there was a good selection to choose from." See all these reviews: 8n in Zanzibar; 4n in Tanzania
