"Memorable family holiday in Zambia"

I visited Zambia between 27 Dec 2019 and 5 Jan 2020
"See my comments relating to the Luangwa Safari House page.

A wonderful family holiday, which my dad and elder brother have given extensive feedback on.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

My overall impression of how things were run was extremely high, however. All the logistics went without a hitch, and every single staff member we met - those who met us and helped us with the baggage at the airport, drivers, camp staff, guides, and anyone else I've missed - were extremely efficient and friendly. They contributed massively to my being left with a hugely positive impression of Zambia on my first ever visit to the country ." Read full review: 9 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zambia safari

"My Nov 2019 trip"

I visited Zambia between 17 Nov 2019 and 29 Dec 2019
"Excellent.

It was a shame that the outward journey was complicated by the failure of the Emirates flight on which I'd been re-booked to take off on the evening of Nov 17th, which meant missed connections and a night in Lusaka and missing two nights in the park. But thanks to Amanda for managing the changes and keeping me informed, and for looking into the possibility of changing my final flight home." "My Oct 2019 trip"

I visited Zambia between 26 Oct 2019 and 3 Nov 2019
"This was our third trip to Africa with Expert Africa and we would highly recommend them and would not use anyone else if we were returning. Megan and also Sabrina in the Botswana office went well beyond the call of duty at 6.00am on Sunday when we got stuck in Nairobi with a flight delay (on a flight organised by ourselves). Thanks to both of you.
We had seen the more northern areas of the South Luangwa Park previously and enjoyed seeing the more southern part." Read full review: 8 nights in Africa; 8 on a Zambia safari

"30th wedding anniversary safari"

I visited Zambia and 1 other country between 6 Oct 2019 and 22 Oct 2019
"We had been saving for this trip for 5yrs and booked it almost a year ago so the anticipation was palpable. The trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary was truly wonderful. Everywhere you go, you feel looked after and even the blip in the service level at Mkulumadzi lodge was quickly sorted out.

We met lots of lovely people and saw loads of animals - 164 species recorded in my notebook! Our guides were all extremely eagle eyed and did their utmost to get you in the best position for taking photos. In 3 of the 4 camps, we were lucky enough to not have to share a jeep which really helps build up a good relationship with your guide.

We only put on 3lb in weight each which is astonishing when all the camps feed you every 2-3hrs with tempting food. Each park we stayed in offered different scenery and new animals and birds to see. Whilst some animals such as cheetahs and rhino remained elusive, we have some amazing memories and photos to remind of us this fabulous trip. Roll on the next safari!

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Not really - Lucy was incredibly helpful and patient with my endless questions.

Occasionally there was a bit of a delay getting a response but it was never a major issue." Read full review: 16 nights in Africa; 9 on a Zambia safari

"Luwanga trip"

I visited Zambia between 28 Sep 2019 and 9 Oct 2019
"A good balance between locations, walkinig and driving safaris.

It fulfilled our brief.

We didn't thoroughly read the travel information until the last moment. This meant hurried purchase of soft luggage which worked well." Read full review: 11 nights in Africa; 11 on a Zambia safari

"Fantastic first safari!"

I visited Zambia between 27 Sep 2019 and 10 Oct 2019
"I had an indescribably excellent experience for my first safari!

I had done some research prior to contacting Expert Africa and Lucy Copson was awesome - listened to what my expectations were and made wonderful suggestions for my itinerary! She was never annoyed when I asked for modifications to the itinerary and when my return flight was postponed a day, she knew about it immediately, found some options for me and booked my last day at Luangwa River Camp. I wouldn't have done it any other way.

The transfers were seamless, everyone was professional and pleasant and my trip was worry free. I selected Robin Pope since they don't charge a single supplement but I can't imagine staying with a better outfit.

I highly recommend the services of Expert Africa and Robin Pope safaris! Thanks, Lucy!

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Definitely tell people doing the mobile walking safaris to bring clothing that is army green/brown/grey. Otherwise you stick out like a sore thumb in the bush! The guide and host did have extra shirts they kindly loaned to me." Read full review: 13 nights in Africa; 12 on a Zambia safari

"My Sep 2019 trip"

I visited Zambia and 1 other country between 18 Sep 2019 and 6 Oct 2019
"We had a full-on holiday in South Africa and Zambia with 9 flights and 7 different locations. We had two safari experiences that complemented each other perfectly.

Tongabezi as a base to see the Victoria Falls was great and a perfect way to end our holiday.

Everything went as planned without a hitch of any kind - a real tribute to professional organisation. Many thanks!" Read full review: 18 nights in Africa; 6 on a Zambia safari

"Our September 2019 trip"

I visited Zambia between 17 Sep 2019 and 2 Oct 2019
"Ever since our first trip in 2015 I have said "This is the best trip ever." I say it every year and 2019 did not disappoint.

It was very interesting going at a different time of year. We loved seeing the trees in flower and were surprised by how green the park was in late September. The wildlife was much more concentrated around the river compared to May/June. We had never seen so many lions before nor so many carcasses. Birding was good but many of the birds were much higher up in the trees than on previous visits - presumably because there were fewer seeds on the ground. Tree frogs and insect life were less evident on this visit. The exception being the tsetse flies. However they were not a problem on most of the game drives. They just a issue in certain areas of the park.

Special thanks should go to the chefs and kitchen staff at all three Robin Pope camps. There were plenty of options for breakfast including porridge (proper cut oats none of your rolled oats or instant stuff). Amazing lunches with such a refreshing array of salads. And delicious evening meals. Not forgetting the afternoon homemade cakes and biscuits (forget the Great British Bake Off - we have the winners in South Luangwa!). A wonderful variety of nibbles that were provided at sundowner time plus more surprises on the bar when we returned from our evening drives. We also need to mention the huge variety of home made bread and rolls that were served!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Once again Tour Africa staff were there at Lusaka Airport to welcome us and assist with transfers. They also helped with our departure flights.

Freddie Sutton was responded to our initial enquiry and Claire Scott was responsible for completing all the final details. Both of them were great to deal with and responded promptly and efficiently.

We are already planning next year's trip. Thanks Robin Pope Safaris. Thanks Expert Africa.
