Mwaleshi Camp: video gallery

Mwaleshi Camp: picture gallery

Mwaleshi stands beside the Mwaleshi River, in North Luangwa National Park.
Reached by a short flight from South Luangwa...
...it's one of the most remote camps in Africa, and concentrates exclusively on walking safaris...
...during which you can get close to the larger animals in the area...
...as well as some of the smallest.
Mwaleshi is a simple, seasonal camp which is re-built every year from scratch.
It's main lounge-dining area...
...is a simple, open-sided 'chitenje'.
Inside you'll find comfortable places to relax, a bar, an interesting bookshelf...
...and a dining table.
There are shady loungers where you can relax during the day...
...as well as lots of chats in the evening around the campfire.
Mwaleshi has four comfortable chalets - where mosquito netting surrounds either queen-size...
... or separate twin beds. Each chalet is lit by battery powered storm lantern.
The chalets have 'windows' facing the river, but don't expect any glass!
Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet, wash basic, and hot shower...
... but few people spend much time in the room here.
Mwaleshi opens only during the dry season, and often the weather is hot...
... so cooling off in the shallow river here is a magical end to a day walking from Mwaleshi.
