"Wonderful finale to a great holiday"

2 nights Arrived 12 Sep 2007
"A wonderful place to finish one's holiday.

The food, service, and accommodation are first class. Our valet was outstanding. We enjoyed the activities, but this is really a place for the end, not the beginning: the wildlife experience here is pretty limited, and if one had indulged in it here at the start of the trip, one would have wasted time and money since it doesn't compare with South Luangua.

Great visit to the school." See all these reviews: 10n in Zambia

"Lodge great as before -"

1 night Arrived 4 Sep 2007
"Having stayed at Tongabezi Lodge before the repeat was still a pleasure to experience the spectacular location and luxury.

Service and food perhaps a shade off last time (no fish on dinner choice for example) but still very good. Room service with Butler great and all staff very friendly. Pool not well maintained.

Dog House view could be improved with some with some judicious pruning of trees/bushes. Bathroom only limited surface space to place toilet articles and no real chest of drawers for fold up clothes storage. This could be improved.

For a lodge of this class top management attention to detail would benefit to really keep it excellent" See all these reviews: 7n in Zambia; 6n in Botswana; 2n in Namibia; 2n in South Africa

"Highlight - Devil's Armchair"

3 nights Arrived 29 Aug 2007
"Tongabezi was a disappointment but fortunately we had the experience of going to the Livingstone Hotel for lunch and to the Devil's Armchair which was amazing!

The service at Tongabezi was very slow and noone seemed to be in charge. The Manager (Rudi?) greeted us on arrival and when we left and was notable by his absence the rest of the time. The drainage was in poor repair and smelled badly and the food was unexceptional. We enjoyed the trips up the river and the bird life and fishing but would probably not recommend Tongabezi to others." See all these reviews: 14n in Zambia

"Mega fab place"

4 nights Arrived 18 Aug 2007
"Superb place with wonderful people. What an experience to be woken by 20 Hippos at 5.45 each morning snorting and blowing off wind plus singing in their unique style. The Croc outside our window was small and fab to have as a guard dog.

Our valet Nymabe we wanted to bring home with us.

The setting by the side of the river in hut/cottage number 1 was just an amazing experience." See all these reviews: 6n in South Africa; 4n in Zambia
