Awesome Trip - Expert Africa are pros
Namibia between 13 Aug 2010 and 28 Aug 2010
Sabina was extremely helpful and responsive when we had an issue with the vehicle. The attention to detail was very good and the process for booking, payment, confirmations, etc were very efficient and customer-friendly.
I will book another trip in the future with the Expert Africa team."

Wolwedans Desert Lodge
"Wolwedans Dune Lodge review"
Staff was very friendly. Mid-day drive with lunch could be up-grade with better food and wine selection along with a white table cloth and more comfortable chairs....but this is a pick.
Met the owner/custodian (Stefan) on the morning of departure and receive and excellent history and overview of the lodge and its commitment to the environment....very classy set-up."

Kulala Desert Lodge
"Lodge okay... Balloon ride not to be missed"
Staff was pleasant and friendly. Trip to the nearby canyon was a disappointment. The dunes Soussevlei were awesome.
The guide, Peitrus was very accomodating and friendly/knowledgable.
The balloon ride (outside vendor) and breakfast in the desert was one of the highlights of the entire trip. The balloonist (Dennis) was very friendly and entertaining."

Villa Margherita
"Awesome dune ride...ask for Hermann"
The outside vendor (Mula/Mula (sp?) ) for activites was very cool. The boat ride in the morning was very cold and heavy jacket, gloves and hat were all appreciated. The bay was fogged-in most of the day, especially in the morning, but this was the luck of the draw. The boat dropped us off on shore for a Land Rover ride in the dunes (guide was Hermann and he was most excellent !) Once a few kilometers from shore the weather improved dramatically.
The lunch set-up in the dunes was probably the best overall lunch experience of the entire 2 1/2 week trip. Fresh oysters, game, pasta and champagne.....awesome!"

Doro Nawas
"Sleep under the stars"
Pool area was small, but chic and sophisticated. The tracking (and finding) of the desert elephants was very interesting and enjoyable. Guide (Peter) was extremely pleasant and knowlegable. The fireplace in the common area was very cool and appreciated in the evening.
Our room had a leak under one of the basins and the showers were lacking hot water."

Ongava Tented Camp
"Waterhole in camp and the meals were stars"
Game drives yielded lion, black and white rhino and giraffe along with several birds and all manner of antelope. Waterhole within 30 meters of the terrace and dinning area was constantly yielding unparalleled viewing of wildlife.
Rio and Leon were excellent guides."

Onguma Tented Camp
"Big 4 seen in less than an hour/gourmet meals"
Excellent wine cellar complimented an eclectic and very romantic dining area (totally open air and full view of a 24-hour lighted waterhole). Food was stellar for all meals.
Rooms had both indoor, outdoor showers and tub.... with an endless supply of hot water. Front decks opened to a full view of the waterhole. The pool/lounging area was very elegant.
Guide (Previous) was super friendly and put us on stellar wildlife in the morning and a great "nature" oriented drive with sundowner in the evening. Having Etosha relatively close by was a big plus. Attention to detail was impressive, including lit candles in the room after dinner, a hot water bottle in the jeep along with blankets for the early morning drive to Etosha and an excellent curio collection"

Okonjima Bush Camp
"Okonjima Bush Camp review"
Our guide (Paul) was very knowledgable and helpful. We saw both leopard (collared and radio tracked) and cheetah--confined to a small fenced in area for the reserve.
While I appreciated seeing the cats--cheetah especially--this was a very differednt feel to the other camps....almost zoo-like at some level. I liked the visit very much, but would not be compelled to re-visit."

Elegant Guesthouse
Rooms were small. In-room safes need to be left open and usage detailed with the guests."
