Such a beautiful land, full of contrasts, friendly peole and a tourism industry that cannot do enough to please its guests. Wow!
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
Make sure everyone realises how absolutely invaluable Chris' guide is, became referred to as "The Bible" in our car!"

One thing to note is that there are no electric sockets in the room . Although there were plenty of plug sockets up in the main lodge for people to charge cameras and phones, you couldn't really go up there to dry your hair!
Didn't take part in any of the activities there."

Central Guest House, Namibia (this camp has since closed)
"Central Guest House review"
The whole place was very welcoming. We were invited to have a sherry in the lounge, in fromt of the real fire. We had booked activities to do in Swakopmund (quad biking, kayaking and living desert tour). The lady on reception phoned to confirm one of the bookings for us, then printed off the map that we needed.
Breakfast was great again and done early to fit in with our early start for the kayaking."

Okaukuejo Camp

The shop was a little disappointing in as much there was no bread, cheese, ham etc to buy. I had thought we would probably be able to buy things to make a lunch to take with us the following day. In the event we returned to camp and used the kiosk, which was good value, for a snack like toasted sandwich and chips was around £4.
The system of checking out then having breakfast, so giving them chance to check the rooms, worked well for us, as we had left a torch and some shower gel behind, which we were able to get before we left!"

Halali Camp

We drove down to the waterhole, though it was easily walkable. Fantastic experience at sunset as 12 elephants arrived, complete with two babies.
Food lovely here too and restaurant accommodated us eating in two sittings while one of us stayed and looked after our youngest son, who was poorly. Credit card payments not a problem here and quick too."

Onguma Bush Camp

Food very good quality, in a beautiful restaurant round an open fire. Two lounges and a lovely verandah made for a lovely place to relax at the end of a day in Etosha. A lovely touch was that while we were at dinner, a bedtime story was put in the children's rooms."

Waterberg Camp
"Waterberg Camp review"
The kiosk wasn't open so we had to try and cobble a bit of lunch together from what was for sale in the shop (bread and peanut butter!) We were told to make a reservation for dinner, but at the rsetaurant we were told we didn't need to. We got to the restaurant just after 7 and didn't get our meals till 8.15. It was a menu service rather than the buffet like at the other NWR resorts and tehre just didn't seem to be enough people in the kitchen. When my son got his steak, which was meant to be well done, it was still bleeding, so that delayed his meal even further.
We did complain (which we very rarely do), but there had been no apology or explanation as to why the food took so long. The lady we spoke to was initially quite rude, agreed to take the cost of the cheapest meal off the bill and then did apologise. Breakfast the following morning was fine but we headed off to Okonjima straight after breakfast. Our $500 was returned without the room being checked. Credit card payments fine here too"

Okonjima Plains Camp

The rooms were really nicely decorated. Everything ran like clockwork there, you went to get your dinner, handed in your key, then got it back with a torch later. The food was excellent. Paid for lunch on the first day, which was a little over priced really at $100. [Ed: that's N$100 which is about US$14, or UK£9, at today's rates] The following day we had a late breakfast after going leopard tracking at 6am, so the breakfast then lasted us till we had coffee and cakes at 2.30 before the afternoon activities.
The activities were pricey (as there were 5 of us) but equally excellent value for money when yo considered what you got to see. The guides were excellent too (ours Jonas was very enthusiastic and very amusing) When you got back from the night drive or a visit to the night hide, it was lovely to find hot water bottles in your bed!"
Breakfast lovely. Location very handy for Joe's Beerhouse!"
