My trip to Zanzibar
Zanzibar between 2 Nov 2024 and 9 Nov 2024
Everything went smoothly, and when I wanted to extend my stay at Pongwe and cancel Stone Town, Tam (travelling!) and Jessica were extremely helpful and highly efficient.
Thank you!"

My September 2024 trip to Namibia
Namibia between 22 Sep 2024 and 8 Oct 2024

Weinberg Hotel
"Weinberg Hotel review"
The hotel restaurant (I had my evening meal there) could be more varied."

Doro Nawas
"Doro Nawas review"
The staff were invariably friendly and accommodating; the activities were varied and led by expert guides.
The landscape of Damaraland is breathtaking in itself, and from the lodge you may enjoy the views across the countryside. -"

Etendeka Walking Trail
"Etendeka Walking Trail review"
We were a group of five travellers and had an expert guide (plus a back-up team of three). While the focus was not so much on actually finding wildlife (although we did see giraffes and zebras), the guide showed us how to read and interpret tracks (and other left-overs), which was fascinating.
Our guide also explained the geology and the indigenous flora and fauna. He was invariably friendly and supportive.
The overall organisation (pick-up, transport of luggage, food) was top-notch!
This walk comes highly recommended."

Ongava Tented Camp
"Ongava Tented Camp review"
I loved the fact that it's unfenced and in the middle of the wilderness, with animals coming to the waterhole day and night.
The staff were invariably friendly and attentive.
The guide for the drives was excellent, tracking and finding a wealth of animals and then adding information about them.
I also did a full-day drive through Etosha from here, which was fantastic."

Mushara Lodge
"Mushara Lodge review"
I liked the airy feel about it."

Nhoma Camp
"Nhoma Camp review"
Despite the temperatures being hot, the camp has an airy, peaceful and comfortable feel about it. The owners of the camp were very welcoming, and the staff were highly attentive. I enjoyed the activities with the Ju|'hoan San people, and very much appreciated the varied nature of the activities that were included.
Among other things, we did a "hunting walk" and were introduced to fire-making, finding and digging out roots and preparing traps. Being out in nature with the three hunters and a Ju|'hoan San guide (plus my own guide) felt surprisingly easy and natural.
This camp was one of the highlights of my itinerary."

Kulala Desert Lodge
"Kulala Desert Lodge review"
All staff are very welcoming and accommodating."
Staff were highly attentive, friendly and accommodating.
The restaurant offered a good variety of different types of food, which was beautifully prepared."
