My May 2024 trip
Botswana between 30 May 2024 and 11 Jun 2024
"Our 10 days in Botswana was better than we could have imagined.
We went just before the high season and it was very dry, but in our four day stay at Splash camp, we could see the difference as the floods started to arrive. There were many highlights and this trip has created lasting memories.
The friendliness of everyone we met was amazing, they work long days but were always smiling and wanting to help."

"A very friendly welcome to this camp and the staff were great throughout. The food was fabulous and there was a great choice for veggies.
The only downside to this camp was the tents had mesh sides, with flimsy curtains. It was quite windy when we were there and it was very cold at night, despite the hot water bottles provided. You had to grit your teeth to get up in the morning!
We were so lucky to have Elvis and Leo as our guide and tracker. The wildlife was not as abundant as at Splash camp, but we still had some great sightings, including bat eared foxes, African wildcat and aardwolf.
This was a very different experience in terms of animal sightingsecve"

"The biggest camp that we stayed in and by the time we were leaving it was starting to get busy. But, the staff were very friendly and the rooms were probably the most luxurious of our trip.
The food was great, it's amazing how they can rustle it all up in the middle of nowhere.
Just sitting on the deck of our room in the afternoon, with impala and warthogs snuffling about by our feet and ten different species out at the watering hole, in an everchanging parade, was magical to witness.
We were lucky enough to see a cheetah hunt, wild dogs chasing and a standoff between lions and buffalo. When the guides are excited too, you know you are witnessing something special. There were also lots of babies about - hyena, lion cubs, hippo and elephants."

We really liked the 'bunker' hide which gave a unique view of the waterhole and all the activity that went on around it. They are just building a second hide and we were lucky to see some lions playing with the building materials!
Our overnight campout on the platform was an experience we will never forget, despite the cold. But they made sure we had so many blankets we could barely turn over!
Our accommodation was comfortable and very clean and we appreciated the wifi and the cookie jar!"
