My Feb 2024 trip
Kenya between 12 Feb 2024 and 24 Feb 2024
"Our first visit to Kenya and we were not disappointed at all.
We couldn't fault any aspects of our trip, the service, or our overall experience.
Not having spotted a leopard, we have every incentive to come back!
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
No. Having used other agents in Africa, we rated Expert Africa the best we have used."

"Met by Abdul, our guide for the entire visit, at the local airstrip. He had wash towels and drinks. He took us to the camp promptly.
The camp was very high quality. Everything was clean and modern, WIFI was excellent, and the lodge was cleaned everyday.
Food was plentiful, varied and high quality. For morning game drives, a tray of tea, coffee and biscuits was delivered to our lodge at 5.45 each day. Camp staff were available to guide you by torches between the lodge and the restaurant when it was dark.
Abdul was a very good guide. He knew everything about the animals and was informative on lots of different things. His ability to find animals, and get us very close to them was superb.
He positioned us next to a pride of lions and the two lionesses, followed by 6 cubs, walked within a metre of our car. He then trailed the male while it re-joined the pride. Similarly he also placed us next to elephant herds and rhino.
Bush breakfasts out of the car, with white rhino nearby, were a great experience."

"Again picked up at the airport by our guide for the trip, Samora. He was excellent all round. The lodge was at the top of a large hill and only a very good driver in a land rover could get up. Samora made it look easy.
The staff were great. Robert, our server, was good to chat to and gave us lots of information on the Samburu. The rest of the staff were equally attentive and accommodating. Food was Italian inspired and of high quality.
Samora was a fabulous guide. He regularly found animals and positioned us very carefully in the middle of herds of elephants, yet had approached them so quietly they were not concerned at all by our presence.
Bush breakfasts by the river were very good experiences. The bush dinner, hosted by the staff of several Samburu camps, was great. A large fire, Samburu dancing, and the chance to ask any questions about their culture, was entertaining and informative."

"John was our Massai guide here. The camp was very welcoming and friendly with all of the staff attentive to any needs. Food again was Italian inspired and very good.
Because the camp was open to the wildlife, staff were posted on the paths and guided visitors to the restaurant and bar area, and back to their tents, at all times of the day. We never saw any animals in the camp though.
John was a brilliant guide. We had early starts, (preceded by coffee and tea in the lounge), and were out on the plains before we saw any other jeeps. John found animals by some mysterious sixth sense and regularly we were the only car at some activity. Twice he found lions devouring a kill, although thankfully we did not see the actual kill. He explained everything going on including how the males would eat first but then defend the pride against marauding hyenas.
We also saw a cheetah just fed after a recent kill and walking very close to the jeep. Lots of animals including substantial herds of buffalo, wildebeest, and zebra.
Bush breakfasts on the Mara River were close to hippo and crocodile and john was very informative on the birds we saw.
A 5 star experience."

We had a late arrival and early start so went straight to bed. The breakfast, (at 05.00 hours) was varied and very high quality with excellent service. Again the driver was waiting and a drive through Nairobi to Wilson Airport was quick and easy.
The driver stewarded us through the check in process as well. 5 star experience."
