My Nov 2023 trip
Kenya between 16 Nov 2023 and 30 Nov 2023
"The whole trip was so well organised, we didn't have to think about a thing. Someone was always there to tell us where we needed to be.
The internal flights were also a breeze. I probably would have fewer flights next time and perhaps not go to either Amboseli or Laikipia, instead visiting the Kicheche camps in the Mara."

"Beautiful resort. The cottage was fabulous with great views of Kilimanjaro, even from the bath and toilet!!
The food was excellent, especially the salads. Elizabeth, the manager was very friendly as were all the staff.
The only downside to Amboseli is that you can't go off road but that didn't stop us seeing plenty.
We were however surprised that our guide didn't have any binoculars, he did have excellent spotting skills but should really have had a pair."

"Unfortunately we had a fair bit of rain so the going was very wet. Our guide Peter was amazing with the Land cruiser, so it didn't stop us getting about. The camp was great, it really felt like being in the bush. Anita was very nice, although she did try to over feed us!! We visited the Northern White Rhino enclosure and the rhino memorials, that was very moving.
Unfortunately we didn't get a glimpse of Mount Kenya, which was a pity as I climbed it back in 1989.
Again the game drives were fantastic, maybe a touch too long. Breakfast out on the plains was lovely but too much food ( we did worry about wastage - we hope there wasn't any!)
Peter was a superb guide. We unfortunately couldn't do a night drive because of the rains."

Kicheche Bush Camp

"Kicheche seem to know what they are doing!! Another great camp with great staff and great food.
Our guide Josphat was excellent. We were a bit disappointed to be put with another couple in the vehicle, as we had been on our own everywhere else. However it worked out well as they weren't big photographers so we all had enough space for photos (I have two cameras with big lenses).
The only thing I would do differently next time is to have shorter game drives in the morning so that there is more downtime. We were pretty much safaried out by the end of our stay. Six hour drives was a bit exhausting. Maybe slightly longer in the evening eg 2x 3 hrs.
Also some local specialities on the menu at each venue would be nice."

Four Points Nairobi Airport

"This is a very pleasant city hotel with a rooftop pool, unfortunately we didn't get chance to use it. It's ideally situated for both airports.
Our driver Stanley was very good, he took us to the Karen Blixen museum on our way from Wilson Airport to the hotel. The museum was well worth a visit, as was the Karen district
We had a very nice Kenyan meal of grilled meat with cornmeal.
As I have said before, it would have been nice to have had the option to try some traditional Kenyan fayre."

It was so lovely I had to read the novel, written by the owners mother, when I got back. It made me want to return even more.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone short of time who may want a 'taste of safari' before heading to the coast.
When we return to Kenya we will definitely stay again."
