We were pleased to hear these travellers liked Lemala Mpingo Ridge, however we did understand their concerns regarding the temperature in the room. We spoke to the team at Lemala regarding this issue, and they acknowledged that September was one of the hottest months of the year in Tarangire, and in 2023 global temperatures were particulaly high. Like almost all camps, Lemala Mpingo Ridge does not have air-conditioning, however standing fans are provided. The team are looking into options to make the rooms here a more pleasant temperature going forwards.

We were sorry to hear about these travellers' experiences at Gibb's Farm as thet fell below the standards we expect of this lodge. Talking with the team at Gibb's Farm we understand that there were plumbing works taking place on the day these travellers arrived, and the water in guest rooms was turned off for an hour. In addition, the whole of Tanzania was having issues at this time with power cuts. Gibb's Farm operates a back-up generator which kicks in when the power is down, however this is not always as smooth as mains power which can impact on the electricity supply to guest rooms. Gibb's Farm was very sorry to hear about the impact this had on these travellers' stay with them and offered them a complimentary spa treatment to compensate. The lodge is working to ensure a more efficient power supply in the future.
