My Jun 2022 trip
Kenya between 5 Jun 2022 and 13 Jun 2022
"This trip was fantastic. It was the best holiday I have ever been on and exceeded all of my expectations. It was perfectly planned by expert Africa and I would gladly return. I couldn’t have asked for more, it was unforgettable!"

Four Points Nairobi Airport

"The hotel is close to the airport which was really beneficial for us as we were on a late flight. The beds were very comfortable, the room spacious with a really good shower. The hotel was very clean and quiet allowing for a peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning was really good - options for continental, full English as well as more traditional foods which were really nice. The service was very good and transfers from the airport smooth."

Loisaba Tented Camp
"Loisaba Tented Camp review"
2 nights
Arrived
6 Jun 2022
"Loisaba tented camp is perhaps one of the most beautiful and luxury places that I have ever stayed in.
On arrival we were greeted by Solomon, our guide. We where whisked off in a private vehicle to have refreshments and be familiarised with the camp.
Our tent was incredible, situated higher on the mountains we had uninterrupted views of the beautiful landscape. The room was incredibly clean and equipped with vanity units, wardrobes, hair dryer etc. There was even a luxury shower within our tent with 24 hour hot water.
Solomon was a fantastic guide, he would sit down with us each evening over a cup of Kenyan tea and make a plan for the following day based on what we wanted to see. He was flexible, knowledgeable and really friendly. We would two game drives a day and enjoy sunset evening drinks in our jeep on the plains.
It was unfortunate to learn that laikipia was suffering a drought which meant that there wasn’t as much wildlife as we had expected. However, this did not have a negative impact on our experience. We saw a leopard on our first game drive, we learnt about the communities, landscape, conservation projects. Solomon ensured we saw all the animals we wanted to see and we did not feel that our safari experience suffered.
Loisaba doesn’t just offer brilliant safari experiences, the staff go out of their way to make sure every moment is special. There is a real sense that everyone wants you to have an amazing time. As this was a honeymoon trip, the staff left a bottle of Prosecco in our room and a card, organised a private bush breakfast where we ate breakfast watching an elephant ! Everytime we returned from a drive the staff were waiting for us, offering us beverages and light bites.
The food in Loisaba is outstanding, the wine is perfect, the service is second to none. There is always someone around to make sure you are never hungry. The communal spaces are so comfortable.
I was warned prior to going on safari that it can be very tiring with early wake ups and long game drives. This was not my experience, I did wake up early, however this is easy to do when someone brings coffee to your tent and you are able to drink it whilst watching the sunrise from your bed! After a morning drive it was so peaceful to sit by the pool or in the communal lounge watching the wildlife cross the plains whilst you reflect on your morning.
I would highly recommend Loisaba and look forward to returning again."

Loisaba Star Beds
"Loisaba Star Beds review"
1 night
Arrived
8 Jun 2022
"Loisaba star beds is an absolute must. I must admit that I was so comfortable and happy in the tented camps that I didn’t want to leave. However, I’m glad that I did leave to experience the starbeds as this was a truly unforgettable magical experience that will remain with us forever. It was a standout moment of which the pictures or reviews will never be able to convey how spectacular this place really is.
When we arrived to the starbeds there was a cosy intimate feel. It’s smaller and more traditional. There are less staff compared to the tented camp however, standards remain exceptionally high.
The food was exceptional. Lunch was an immersive experience watching the chef cook on the grill and then inviting us to make our own burgers with an array of fresh produce. Dinner was unforgettable, a romantic candle lit dinner under the stars whilst the chef cooked infront of us. This was better than all of the Michelin starred dining experiences that I have been too!
The starbed itself is incredible. I can honestly say that the pictures do not do it any justice. It is phenomenal, waking up in the middle of the night to see a perfect sky full of twinkling stars with the odd shooting star and the Milky Way above us just felt like a dream.
It was a peaceful, relaxing, romantic and magical experience and the perfect way to end our stay in Loisaba. We left happy and excited"

Naboisho Camp
"Naboisho Camp review"
3 nights
Arrived
9 Jun 2022
"Naboisho is a spectacular camp, its the perfect combination of luxury living with tailored advanced safari.
The camp itself is a true immersive experience. Located on the plains I saw lions roaming around in the distance whilst I was sitting out on the veranda. During the evening whilst in my tent I could hear the roar from a lioness. This camp was the closest I felt to being completely surrounded by wildlife, a unique experience that I could not have imagined would be possible.
This was not a case of seeing animals in the distance and taking photos, it was close, up front proximity to wildlife, seeing how they lived, ate and survived.
Safari at Naboisho was everything I had dreamed of. Even the drive from the airstrip to the camp felt like a game drive, we saw three cheetahs within 10 minutes. The plains are beautifully green and picture perfect. The wildlife is incredible, everywhere you look there is wildlife, from the herds of elephants to the cats, giraffe, hyena, hippos and crocs…..we didn’t know where to look! I didn’t ever feel like I had to search for an animal as they were everywhere. I didn’t need to keep reaching for my binoculars as they were metres away. It didn’t feel crowded or littered with jeeps, it felt peaceful. Evening drinks watching a pride of 20 odd lionesses with their cubs metres away was a perfect way to end each day.
The safari experience at Naboisho is perhaps the best you could ever get. However, the true stars of the show are the staff. Each and every member are dedicated to ensuring you get the most out of your experience, from management to the Askari that walk you to your tent each night.
My guide Evelyn was superb, there were no time limits on the game drives she was happy to be out as long as we wanted to be. We completely tailored our experience and Evelyn was only too happy to stay out for 10 hours with us so we could watch three cheetahs in their desperate pursuit for food. Seeing these three brothers hunt together, the failed attempts, unrelenting determination and eventual success was incredible. Evelyn organised lunch and breakfast to come to us and ensured that we had the best time ever single day. She wanted to know what we wanted to see and made it her mission to ensure that we saw it. She comes highly recommended to anyone that visits Naboisho.
The food at Naboisho is delicious and the service is impeccable. The pool was a great way to cool off during the day. The tent is very comfortable and the outside shower was a luxurious touch.
Naboisho is truly a special place. Everything was perfect, From the moment we met our guide Evelyn to the moment we left. This camp was a home away from home, the staff felt like family and I felt a true sadness when I left them and promised to return."
