My Jul 2011 trip
Namibia between 4 Jul 2011 and 22 Jul 2011
We were able to have an excellent holiday which suited all our budgets. Those on limited budgets camped very cheaply in Etosha whilst a little more comfort was available for the others."

Halali Camp
"Halali Camp review"
After a very disappointing evening meal we then self catered for the rest of our stay in Etosha. This was a challenge given the very very limited supplies in Halali and Okaukuejo camp shops but still much preferable to the restaurant"

Okaukuejo Camp
"Okaukuejo Camp review"
Expert Africa had told us that self catering was not an option now the camps had been upgraded. There may have been a misunderstanding but it is still possible. There were braai at both camps. nb Okaukuejo - there are no braais now at the lodges around the watehole only at the ones further back. Admittedly the only facility is the braai but we stoked up with plastic crockery/cutlery bery cheaply outside the park and managed easily. The evening meals were £17 a head which was very expensive for the quality of hte food and it didn't help when there were mice running around the restaurant!
Okaukuejo scores better than Halali in location manily due to the large waterhole with excellent game viewing"

Okonjima Plains Camp
"Okonjima Main Camp review"
The accommodation at Bush Camp was exceptional but we were so busy with all the activities that we didn't have enough time to really appreciate our lodge. Our guide, Rohan , was excellent."

We had been warned by Expert Africa about security of hold luggage at Jo'burg (thankyou) Unfortunately one of our party did not take note of the warning and his luggage was broken into and electronic equipment taken. Please keep the warning in your trip info!"

If you want the freedom of being able to walk out in the bush this is ideal. If you think you are going to see alot of game you will be disappointed. The birdwatching however was excellent. The guided walks were tailored to our requirements and we could also go off for walks by ourselves.
This made a good contrast to Etosha when you are confined to the car"
