"Conveniently close to the airport, which is a great plus when arriving late.

It is a beautiful and well maintained hotel with spacious room, comfortable beds and nice and clean bathroom with all amenities.

Only downside is that with a room right at the entrance to the hallway, you hear every single guest when they start leaving at 5.00 am, as the door slams pretty hard. A soft close mechanism could probably solve this."

"Serian Nkorombo is a wonderful and very authentic safari camp.

Driving into camp you are met with stunning scenery. and the camp itself is tucked away between light woodland alongside the river.
There is good separation between the tents providing a good level of privacy.

The classic tents are surprisingly spacious and have storage space and a separate bathroom section. We just loved the hot bucket showers, which you can request at any time that suits you. We also really appreciated the in-room charging facilities.

The food at Nkorombo is excellent. Varied and very tasteful. It is truly amazing what the kitchen is able to produce at a bush location like this. Bush breakfasts and packed lunches on game drives are very high quality. And if you are in camp in the afternoon you will be treated to delicious cake.

The camp is run by local Masai , and they are amazing, working extremely hard and making you feel like a very valued guest. In the evening it is wonderful to share stories and experiences by the camp fire with these dedicated and lovely people.

The fact that you have a private vehicle at Serian is an enormous plus. The flexibility that this provides is of extraordinary value. You can arrange your day and your focus 100% to your liking and be out on game drives as much or as little as you please. The guiding is excellent and these very experienced professionals do not miss any significant sighting. Serian really stands out when it comes to customized service with focus on wildlife.

Located in the National Reserve you will encounter a lot of traffic on certain sitings and things may become a bit crazy when wildebeest are heading for the Mara River. We find it too busy in these situations, but it becomes no issue for the quality of the safari as you can easily head somewhere else. The reserve is full of wildlife and you can become the first and only vehicle on a wonderful lion, elephant or any other sighting if you choose to go your own way.

One thing to note about the camp location. With the proximity of the river, it is never quiet. The sound of the running river is louder than a bit of background noise and earplugs may be advised for light sleepers."

"The Serian camp in Mara North is somewhat more luxurious than Nkorombo in the Reserve.

Rooms are very spacious and with a magnificent view over the river and the Olololo Escarpment. The landscape in Mara North feels somewhat more varied, but on the other hand being a private reserve owned by the Masai, cattle is gracing in specific areas on a rotating schedule, and you see and even hear the settlements in the distance on a daily basis, it almost feels less like being in the wilderness compared to the Reserve.

That being said, it is a wonderful conservancy with several lion prides and a lot of other magnificent wildlife to see. Offroading, evening drives until around 21.30 and walking safari are possible, which is a nice addition to the game drives.

The food, the service, the flexibility are all fantastic traits at Serian. We love that everyone has their private vehicle.

It certainly nice to meet and talk to other guests during meals in camp, but it also becomes obvious that everyone has different interests and preferences, so you are really able to do the perfect safari and arrange your activities day by day. I honestly wish more camps would have a similar setup."
